Denny Hamlin achieved his second-season victory at the prestigious 2022 Coca-Cola 600. The event took place at Charlotte Speedway in May.

During the decisive restart, Hamlin swiftly maneuvered to the left of Ross Chastain's heavily damaged No.1 Chevrolet. Simultaneously, as reported by NBC Sports, his teammate Kyle Busch made a determined charge on Hamlin's right.

On the final lap, Hamlin strategically outmaneuvered Busch in Turn 2, effectively forcing him to the higher line and ultimately allowing Hamlin's No.11 Toyota to claim its second victory of the year.

Sam McAuley was the interim crew chief leading the team from the pit box. At the same time, Chris Gabehart began serving a four-race suspension following an incident involving a loose wheel that detached during the Dover race on May 2, 2022.

Dirt Track adept NASCAR driver Kyle Larson emerged as the champion in the Charlotte Motor Speedway road course on May 30, 2021. 

The feat granted team owner Rick Hendrick an unprecedented 269th triumph. Larson's triumph marked the eighth victory of his career and second of the season, securing him a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.

As he crossed the finish line after completing 400 laps, Larson dominated the competition, boasting a remarkable lead of 10.051 seconds over his teammate Chase Elliott, who secured second place.

The exceptional performance of Hendrick Motorsports continued with a consecutive 1-2 finish, with only Kyle Busch managing to disrupt the dominance of the HMS team. William Byron and Alex Bowman, representing Hendrick, claimed impressive fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

Throughout the race, Larson showcased his prowess by leading 327 of the 400 laps. While Elliott and Byron presented notable challenges, leading 22 and 19 laps, respectively, Larson's dominance remained unshaken.

Brad Keselowski emerged victorious in the overtime finish securing his first-ever win in NASCAR's longest race, surpassing Chase Elliott.

The 2020 event experienced the second overtime in its history as Keselowski made a powerful surge forward after a restart on Lap 404.

He showcased remarkable skill and crossed the finish line, defeating Jimmie Johnson by a mere 0.293 seconds. The race itself extended to a record-breaking 607.5 miles, the longest distance ever covered in a NASCAR race.

However, Johnson's finish was invalidated as his No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet failed the post-race inspection. Before the dramatic turn of events, Elliott had established a commendable lead of 1.6 seconds over Keselowski's No. 2 Team Penske Ford.

However, as Elliott's Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron encountered a flat tire and spun, the No. 9 Chevrolet approached the start-finish line to complete Lap 398 of the scheduled 400 laps.

During the eventful Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Speedway on 25 May 2019, Truex emerged as the winner surpassing Joey Logano and Kyle Busch.

With just four laps remaining, Truex boldly maneuvered through a four-wide restart, capturing and maintaining the lead until the checkered flag. This victory marked his second triumph in the Coca-Cola 600 within four years.

Truex faced initial adversity when encountering a flat tire after hitting the wall early in the race. However, he displayed remarkable resilience and surged to the front during a chaotic final restart.

While his previous victory in 2016 had been dominant, leading an impressive 392 of 400 laps, this particular race proved much more fiercely competitive. Truex led for 116 laps in an event that featured 30 lead changes and 16 caution flags.

Kyle Busch secured an impressive win at the 2018 Coca-Cola 600 race, marking his first-ever victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway results.

From the beginning until the checkered flag, Busch showcased his dominance at the only active Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series track where he had yet to win.

This achievement set him apart in NASCAR history, as he became the sole driver to have won at every Cup track where he has participated.

Busch demonstrated exceptional skill en route to his fourth victory of the 2018 season and the 47th of his career. He accomplished a remarkable feat by sweeping all three stages of the race, leading an impressive 377 laps.

Moreover, this triumph allowed him to solidify his position as the series leader further, extending his lead to 67 points over Joey Logano, who finished in 22nd place.

Austin Dillon achieved a significant milestone in his career by securing his first-ever victory in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in 2017.

Teaming up with crew chief Justin Alexander for the first time, Dillon made a crucial decision with seven other drivers to stay on the track when the leading cars opted to pit on Lap 368 out of 400.

Employing a fuel-saving strategy throughout the remaining laps, Austin closely trailed Jimmie Johnson, a seven-time champion, until Johnson's car ran out of gas with just a few laps to go.

With fierce competitors like Kyle Busch and Martin Truex Jr. in close pursuit, Austin managed to maintain just enough fuel to reach the finish line and secure the victory.

Dillon's triumph not only marked his first win in the Cup Series but also highlighted the significance of his strategic fuel-saving approach, which ultimately paid off in a race filled with intense competition and close finishes.

Martin Truex Jr. dominated at Charlotte Speedway by leading an unprecedented 392 out of 400 laps, securing his first victory of the 2016 season.

This triumph allowed Truex to break free from the string of misfortune that had plagued him during races where he held a commanding position.

Starting from the pole position in Concord, N.C., Truex wasted no time asserting his authority, quickly taking the lead and maintaining it for all but eight of the 400 laps, ultimately clinching the win. This victory also marked a significant milestone for Truex, ending a 34-race winless streak.

In the past year, Truex had demonstrated strong performances that positioned him to secure several checkered flags. However, unfortunate circumstances hindered his success.

Despite leading for 141 laps at Texas, poor pit strategy resulted in a sixth-place finish. Similarly, he dominated for 172 laps in Kansas until a loose wheel caused him to fall back to 14th place.

American stock racer Carl Edwards was able to stretch his fuel to the last drop to claim a majestic Coca cola victory on 24th May 2015.

Edwards impressively stretched his fuel for a remarkable 62 laps, showcasing his ability to maximize efficiency. His No. 19 Toyota exhibited better miles per gallon during the final 93 miles of the race than it had per hour.

This strategic fuel-saving approach allowed Edwards, Greg Biffle, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. to finish in the top three positions by making their fuel last 60 laps.

The triumph marked Edwards' 24th career victory and his first since joining Joe Gibbs Racing during the offseason. It was also his first success since June 24, 2014, at the road course of Sonoma Raceway.

One of the richest F1 driver Jimmie Johnson secured his first season victory, marking his fourth overall win in the 2014 prestigious race.

During the event, Johnson overtook Matt Kenseth as they exited Turn 4 with just nine laps remaining. The triumph at the Coca-Cola 600 held particular significance for Johnson, as it marked his first win of the year in the 12th race of the season.

Moreover, this success at Charlotte solidified Jimmie's status as a dominant force at the 1.5-mile track. With this conquest, he secured his seventh career win at the venue, breaking a tie with Darrell Waltrip and Bobby Allison.

His victory came amidst a different fuel strategy employed by Carl Edwards and his crew chief Chad Knaus, who warned Johnson with 107 laps to go that a green-flag finish would not be favorable for the No. 48 team.

However, Johnson's skill and determination allowed him to navigate the race successfully and emerge as the deserving winner of the race.

Kevin Harvick 2013 Coca Cola 600 victory came after defeating Kasey Kahne and Kurt Busch in a 10-lap shootout.

During the race, Harvick showcased his skill and determination by pulling away from Kasey Kahne on a restart with just 11 laps remaining, ultimately securing the win. This triumph marked his second victory of the season and his fourth overall win at Charlotte.

Kevin's victory was particularly significant as it closed a remarkable chapter in his career. It was his final season with Richard Childress Racing, the team he had been associated with since taking over the seat of the late Dale Earnhardt in 2001.

The race was filled with twists and turns as Kevin Harvick maneuvered through various crashes and Kahne's dominant performance to capture the checkered flag. Despite Kahne leading the race for an impressive 156 laps, he had to settle for a second-place finish behind Harvick.

Amid this, depending on the configuration, the capacity of Charlotte Motor Speedway is 94,000 to 171,000. The Speedway also has a road course consisting of three possible structures ranging from 1.14 to 2.22 miles.
