Avery and Cassandra have been married for three decades. The pair tied the wedding knot in New Orleans, Louisiana, in July 1991.

They first met each other while attending Southern University in Baton Rouge. Avery was playing for the college team Southern Jaguars during that time. 

Avery described her as an intelligent, humorous, stylish, spiritual, loyal, classy, and loving mom on Mother's Day in May 2022. He also extended his good wishes to all the mothers out there.

Johnson, a former San Antonio Spurs player and coach, and Cassandra have attended various events together. In 2013, they were spotted waving from the court before a Spurs game against the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals.

The following year, in 2014, the couple attended the 140th Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. They were photographed toasting with Moet & Chandon, a luxury champagne brand.

She became a full-time employee in August 2015, when the company promoted her to an Investment Management Analyst position. After working for a year and a half as an analyst, Christianne became a management associate in January 2017.

Avery Johnson Jr.

Avery Jr is a former basketball player at Alabama Crimson Tide. He was born on July 13, 1995, in Houston, Texas.

He proved to be a formidable force on the basketball court as a guard for Texas A&M before making the switch to the University of Alabama, where he currently focuses on the study of sports management.

Previously the rising prospect played as a point guard for his high school team Plano West Senior High. Avery Jr applied for the letter of enrollment at the university in April 2014 and joined the Crimson Tide in 2015.
