Copa America 2024 Venues and Stadiums List

The 2024 Copa America will be hosted across 14 stadiums in the United States, marking the first time the tournament will be held outside of South America. Get ready for a summer of electrifying soccer action in these impressive venues:

The 25-day tournament will be hosted by the US, which also happens to be co-hosting the 2026 World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.

The tournament in 2024 will be a perfect test for the States. It will also help the stadiums and all the personnel involved to prepare for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

During the 2016 tournament, ten cities were chosen out of 24 to host the Copa America. The cities were chosen based on the capacity of the stadiums these cities had.

The stadiums were chosen through bidding and should have a minimum capacity of 50,000. 

The US boasts a handful of high-capacity and standard stadiums to host such significant events. Ten venues were selected in 2016.

As mentioned above, the arenas have a capacity of more than 50,000. Tournaments of a scale like Copa America will need to have such capacities. 

Stadiums like MetLife, NRG, Lincoln Financial, Gillette, Levi's, and many more have been selected as venues for the FIFA World Cup.

New Jersey, Houston, Los Angeles, Foxborough, Philadelphia, Seattle, Chicago, Santa Clara, Orlando, and Glendale were the host cities 2016.

All the cities had stadiums that supported high seating capacity for matches. Since it is a tournament of a huge scale, the seating capacity is a must for the fans to enjoy the fullest.

Thousands of fans travel to support their nation in such tournaments. If they can not be accommodated in the stadiums, the matches will become very dull.

Due to its market, there is a lot of scope for such a tournament to be hosted in the United States. The country has world-class stadiums and facilities and the financial capacity to host such games.

New Jersey, Arlington, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and many more cities have already been selected as host cities for the World Cup.

The additional cities that are selected for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and could be used next year are:

Some of these cities might also be hosting Copa America in 2024. If no significant constructions or modifications are to be made for 2026, then they can host the tournament next June.

There will be 4 groups of four teams each in the 2024 Copa America. FOX Sports Network will broadcast the tournament live across the US.

The 2021 edition saw two groups with five teams each based on geographical zones. It was the first time that only ten teams participated as Australia and Qatar withdrew from the tournament. It was decided that if no replacements are found, then the remaining ten teams will play.

The previous edition in 2019, FIFA Rankings was the basis to determine the seeds of the teams and the distribution in the four pots. Pot 1 had the host nation with the best two teams. The second Pot with the next best three, and so on.

In 2016, there were 16 teams that participated in the tournament. Group A had the host nation and Group D had the highest-ranked team in the FIFA Rankings, which was Argentina.

Brazil and Mexico were awarded Group B and C respectively as they "were the most decorated nations in the last 100 years in international competitions".

The distribution of Groups and seeding is different in each edition and without any official announcements, there can only be speculations.

Argentina will enter the tournament as the defending champions. There will be nine more teams from CONMEBOL and six from CONCACAF.

Although the United States is the host nation, the USMNT will not qualify automatically for the Copa America. The six CONCACAF teams will qualify through the 2023-24 CONCACAF Nations League.

The CONMEBOL and CONCACAF have decided to develop the sport in both regions by signing a strategic collaboration agreement.

The remaining six teams will be declared after the 2023-24 CONCACAF Nations League. The group stage for the tournament will start in September 2023, and the Finals in March 2024.
