Damian Lillard Married Kayla Hanson In A Lavish Ceremony

Damian Lillard and his girlfriend Kayla Hanson married on September 4, 2021. Damian recited his vows at Rosewood Miramar Beach. 

Kayla, a licensed nurse by profession, launched her cosmetics company a year ago. It was started in June 2020, during the epidemic year, at 144 A Avenue, Lake Oswego, Oregon.

2020 was full of exciting new beginnings for her. She established her business and received a romantic proposal from the love of her life.

Kayla and Damian's lavish wedding came after a romantic proposal made by Damian in Chicago. 

The NBA player was engaged at the 2020 NBA All Weekend. Without her knowledge, he sneaked all of their families to Chicago.

To pull out his plan, Lillard arrived at the venue where he had adorned a wall of flowers with the phrase "Will You Marry Me?" and pretended the two of them were attending a new Valentine's Day event the NBA was sponsoring.

When Kayla finished reading the question, she spun around and saw Damian down on one knee, holding a dazzling diamond ring. All of their family came together to celebrate their fairy-tale romance and a new chapter in life.

The bride donned a wedding dress and veil by Galia, together with XIV Karats jewelry and Jimmy Choo shoes for her big day. The fashionable groom had an Erinnicole Goodwin tux.

Kayla had the lightest blush since all her bridesmaids' dresses matched the ombre hues of their bouquets.

The lightest roses were used to adorn the magnolia trees at the outdoor ceremony.

Damian sported a suit by Its Goode Clothing and sneakers by Christian Louboutin for the Friday night rehearsal dinner.

At the same time, Kay'La, whom Noelle Jamison groomed, appeared in a Jovani dress by Amina Muaddi to welcome their guests.

Mindy Weiss Party Consultants arranged the magnificent ceremony, and the rehearsal supper took place at the Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito, California.

The florist, Celio's Design, set up a mile-long table covered in a runner of exquisite roses for the rehearsal supper.

After the wedding, the couple held their reception party, where the duo danced to "The Point of It All." Many well-known faces brought their charms to the reception celebration.

Snoop Dogg got the crowd moving with his West Coast attitude, while the couple's favorite singer, Tevin Campbell, enchanted the audience.

The gathering was also thrilled with a choreographed musical show that Kayla and her bridesmaids worked on for weeks. Franco 

Joanie & Leigh's Cakes created a musical cake for the groom that combines Damian, dubbed "Dame D.O.L.L.A., "two passions for music and basketball. 

Damian shares three children Damian Jr, Kalii Laheem and Kali Emma with Kayla. 

On March 30, 2018, the couple welcomed their first son, Damian Jr.

Lillard told the Portland Tribune that it had been a difficult but great experience. His son and partner both got through the phase healthy. 

Lillard and Hanson had twins, Kalii Laheem Lillard and Kali Emma Lee Lillard, on January 21, 2021.

The Portland Trail Blazers announced the arrival of his twins on Instagram, along with a snapshot of the family from the hospital.

He also uploaded an older photo from Hanson's pregnancy with the twins that featured Damain Jr., adding the caption stating he couldn't leave Jr. out.

Damian Lillard parents are Gina Lillard and Houston Lillard. Lillard has a special relationship with his mother.

Back then, Gina was a coordination and benefits expert for a medical insurance firm in Oakland.

She used to spend her days in front of a computer screen, filing claims, and dealing with health issues, per SB Nation. 

Regardless, Gina did everything she could to give her children a better future and encourage them to follow their passions.

When he was selected in 2012, he brought his mother, Gina, and younger sister, LaNae, from Oakland, California, to his six-bedroom mansion in Lake Oswego.

Lillard committed to his mother at age 13 that he would one day leverage his prowess on the basketball court to support her.

On the other hand, Lillard has disclosed some details about his father, who undoubtedly inspired his humble attitude to the game despite winning Rookie of the Year, All-Star, and All-NBA honors in only his first three seasons.

In high school, Damian found out about his parent's separation. He had always had familial stability, which seemed to be slipping away.

Houston Sr. created a bond between his children that was stronger than ever before. He remained active in his children's schooling, continued to attend games, and never left.

He and Gina have always maintained a friendly relationship following their divorce, which has made the adjustment simpler for the kids.

Lillard has two siblings named Houston Lillard and LaNae Lillard. 

Damian younger sister, LaNae Lillard graduated from Portland State University in 2022 with a BS degree in psychology, as per her Facebook post. 

Just like Damian, LaNae played basketball while she was an undergraduate.

She competed for the Pacers in her first season on the varsity team, and throughout the early part of the year, she showed growth by scoring seven points in Lakeridge's defeat to Tigard by a score of 65-24.

Lillard, a 5-foot-8 post player, was part of a youthful Pacers core seeking to improve on the 2013 season's 6-18 record. Although her scoring totals didn't match her brother's, the forward asserts she has a comparable ability to drive from the three-point line to the hoop.

Conversely, she grew up in Oakland, California, with her siblings and attended Lakeridge High School.

Brother Houston Lillard Is The Eldest

Damian older brother, Houston Lillard was appointed Jefferson High School's head football coach in Portland in 2020.

For the 2019 campaign, Lillard started making play calls as the Democrats' offensive coordinator.

He started playing football at San Lorenzo High School in Oakland, California, where he was an All-League quarterback.

Like his brother Dame, Houston was a basketball player who averaged 16.0 points per game.

After graduating, he continued playing football at Laney Community College.

However, Lillard's stint with the Redhawks was cut short by injuries as he relocated to Southeast Missouri in 2006. Before fall workouts in 2006, he sustained a knee injury that ended his season, and in 2007, he missed a month of play due to rib injuries.

After his football career, he founded HL5 Sports, which lasted nearly five years.

According to his LinkedIn page, he formed Team Lillard Football in 2017 and has been the administrator of WorldBuilder since 2018.

Lillard grew up in the Brookfield Village neighborhood of East Oakland.

As a child, Lillard would take milk crates from the nearby elementary school. With the aid of his grandpa, he built basketball hoops to hang to the telephone pole in the vicinity of his residence so he could play outside.

The 32-year-old recalls his background and how this hoop made him the Portland Trailblazers' first choice.

Lillard feels that the youngsters growing up in his tough Oakland area are now prone to more negative influences than he was. And as a result, he felt obliged to return.

The six-time NBA All-Star wants to offer youngsters in the neighborhood what he lacked as a kid, per Yahoo News.
