JR Smith relationship with Ashley Weatherspoon only lasted for two years. Smith broke up with her in August 2015.

As how charming as their love life commenced, the ending was far worse and more miserable, especially for Ashley. 

During the balmy summer of 2015, the duo embarked on an idyllic holiday excursion in August which was documented through a series of stunning photographs shared by the lady love.

The captivating snapshots grasped the essence of their blissful getaway, prompting a sense of enchantment and joy.

However, little did Ashley know about Smith's plan. Two weeks after their vacation, the former Denver Nuggets guard eloped with Harris without letting Ashley learn anything about it.

It has been reported that Smith's engagement to Jewel shocked his then-girlfriend of two years, Weatherspoon.

Smith ended the relationship and engaged with Harris just a few weeks later, in August 2015. She was left to deal with the emotional fallout of the breakup without any closure or exposition from the former athlete.

Ashley Weatherspoon Is An Influencer

Weatherspoon is an entrepreneur and social media influencer from Chicago. She is the creator of the podcast Dear Young Queen.

After graduating from New York University in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, she followed her passion for music.

Ashley joined Warner Musci Group in November 2012 as a product manager. After a year-long stint at the company, she accepted the role of personal and executive assistant at GYST.

Then, she was promoted to employee experience director in December 2016. Her tasks revolved around maintaining successful relationships with every client.

Furthermore, in March 2018, Weatherspoon became the director of Operations at the entity, serving as the right hand of the company's CEO. After five years of loyal service at GYST, she waved goodbye in December 2020 and focused on producing her product. 

Later, she founded Dear Young Queen and Ask Ashley, podcasts where she discusses women's empowerment and encourages them to uncover their voices.

JR Smith wife Jewel Harris married in August 2016 a year after their engagement. Jewel is the baby mama of his two children.

In 2015, he recruited his daughter Demi from his past relationship to perform an orchestrated love mission. With Demi's help, the doting father proposed to his beloved Jewel.

Stunned Jewel took a few seconds to contemplate the situation and accepted the poignant overture. Then exactly a year later, the duo exchanged vows, uniting them in the sacred marriage covenant.

His second daughter Peyton Harris was born on April 20, 2009, two months after Demi's birth. Smith claimed that he never dated Peyton's mom and has kept her identity a secret.

On Peyton's eighth birthday, he visited her house where she lives with her mother and stepfather. He shared a picture from the celebration on his Instagram.

Moreover, Smith and Jewel had their first baby together Dakota Harris on January 2, 2017. However, the delivery came with lots of complications. 

Dakota was born after only 22 weeks of gestation, five months premature. She weighed only one pound at birth and even went under one pound during her extended stay in the NICU.

Her health was extremely fragile, and her parents had to take extra precautions to ensure her well-being. Despite the challenges, Dakota fought hard and was finally released after a lengthy stay.

Smith and his wife Jewel were overjoyed to be able to bring their daughter home and shared photos of the happy occasion on social media. Lastly, the couple welcomed their second daughter Denver Smith in June 2018.

Despite his links with Shardea Washington and the Flash star Candice Patton swirling the internet, he and Jewel have remained intact following several cracks in their relationship.

JR Smith was born to parents Earl Smith Jr and Ida Smith on 9 September 1985. He comes from a family of eight in Freehold Borough, New Jersey.

Smith was raised in a household that boasts a strong passion for sports. Despite not being athletes, Ida and Earl were always present and supportive of their son's athletic endeavors.

Growing up in Clarksburg New Jersey, he forged a love for basketball, baseball and football. From an early age, Smith began playing basketball with his friends in the neighborhood. 

Smith played at the college level in Saint Benedict's Preparatory School before getting drafted by New Orleans Hornets in the 2004 NBA Draft.

Smith's dad Earl and mom Ida often found a seat in a stadium during his game. The 2016's Father's Day was even more special as he won the coveted Larry O'Brien Trophy with the Cavaliers.

After the game, Smith delivered a speech honoring everything his parents did to make him believe in himself. The Lakewood, N.J. resident Earl's eyes were full of joyous tears after hearing their son's words.

Smith is the oldest of six siblings raised in the serene locale of Clarksburg in New Jersey.

Jr shared the arena with his younger brother Chris Smith during the 2013-14 season. Chris is committed to the Israeli National League side, Maccabi Haifa which he joined in 2021.

JR is one of the most tattooed players just like Chris who adopted Judaism as his religion in 2017 and subsequently obtained Israeli citizenship.

Meanwhile, his other younger brother Dimitrius made a name for himself as a standout football player at Monmouth University.

Dimitrius has retired from playing and is enjoying family life. He tied the knot with the makeup artist Alena and has a daughter named Maliah Smith. 

Other than that, JR has a sister named Stephanie Smith who is a mother to two of her sons Jaeshon and Jaeden.
