Kyle Troup lost his mom Sherri Herndon Troup to breast cancer on 9 February 2020 at their Taylorsville home. Mrs. Troup was born on January 8, 1964 in Mercer County.
Meanwhile, she grew up in Orlando, Florida, with her father, Francis “Frank” Herndon, and mother, Janet Smith Herndon. She graduated from Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange and attended Daytona State College.
Sherri and Gup married after many years of dating and celebrated their wedding anniversary on January 26 each year. They were married for 29 years before Sherri passed away.
The mother of two had been a devotee of the Taylorsville Presbyterian Church for most of her life. Besides her family and church, she also worked at Paul Lavitt Mills, Alexander Correctional Center, and the Department of Social Services for Iredell County.
Sherri enjoyed bowling and watching her husband and sons do the same. Her Facebook remains active, mostly sharing her kids' career achievements.
