HOF represents the greatest players, coaches, and contributors in American football. The NFL Hall of Fame Inductees are announced each year in August.
The inductees are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the game and are considered icons.
The selection procedure for inductees includes nomination, evaluation, and final voting. Coaches and contributors may be nominated anytime, whereas players must have been retired for at least five years to be eligible for election.
After being nominated, the candidates are interviewed by a selection committee with media members, former players and coaches, and other football authorities.
The Hall of Fame Board of Selectors, consisting of 48 media representatives from each NFL area, is then presented with the finalists.
Some of the most recognizable figures in American football, including Jerry Rice, Walter Payton, Jim Brown, Vince Lombardi, and many others, have been inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
In 2020, to mark the National Football League's 100th anniversary, a special Blue-Ribbon Panel chose an additional 15 new members, known as the "Centennial Slate," to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Darrelle is a former football cornerback who has spent 11 seasons with National Football League. He has played most of his career with New York Jets and has won Super Bowl XLIX with the Patriots.
Joe played as an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns for 11 seasons. He tied for fifth place in NFL history during his career with his 10 Pro Bowl selections.
Zach was a middle linebacker for 13 seasons in the National Football League. In his career, Thomas was chosen for the Pro Bowl seven times and five times for the First Team All-Pro.
DeMarcus played as an outside linebacker in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos. As a member of the Dallas Cowboys, Ware recorded the most sacks ever by a player with 28 and forced the most fumbles ever by 32.

Richard, a defensive lineman who played for the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders, was selected to the First Team All-Pro three times. He also helped the Patriots win three Super Bowls.
Reggie was an Indianapolis Colts wide receiver who was a six-time Pro Bowler. He also helped the Colts in winning Super Bowl XLI.
Sam played as a linebacker for the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers.He was a member of the Saints' first Hall of Fame class and was chosen for the First Team All-Pro twice and the Pro Bowl five times.

Charles played as a defensive end for the Washington Football Team, Green Bay Packers, and Oakland Raiders. Woodson won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.
John played as a safety for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Denver Broncos. He played in nine Pro Bowls, was twice named to the First Team All-Pro, and assisted the Buccaneers in winning Super Bowl XXXVII.
Alan played 13 seasons in the NFL in the position of guard. Faneca was a nine-time member of the Pro Bowl and a six-time first-team All-Pro pick. He also assisted the Steelers in winning Super Bowl XL.
Calvin a wide receiver who played for the Detroit Lions was a six-time Pro Bowler and three-time First-Team All-Pro pick. He holds many NFL records, including the most receiving yards in a single season.

Steve Atwater was a safety who played for the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos. He was a two-time First-Team All-Pro pick and an eight-time Pro Bowler.

Bruce played as a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams. Bruce was selected to the First Team All-Pro once and played in four Pro Bowls.
Troy, a safety with the Pittsburgh Steelers was a four-time first-team All-Pro selection and an eight-time Pro Bowl participant. He is the all-time top player for interceptions returned for scores.
Edgerrin played as a running back with the Seattle Seahawks, the Arizona Cardinals, and the Indianapolis Colts. He is one of the all-time leaders in rushing yards and touchdowns. He was a four-time Pro Bowler and two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.
Steve was an offensive lineman who played for the Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, and Seattle Seahawks. He was a five-time First-Team All-Pro pick and a seven-time Pro Bowler.

Bailey played as a cornerback for the Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos. He was selected to the Pro Bowl twelve times and was three times named to the First Team All-Pro.
Tony, a tight end who has played for both the Atlanta Falcons and the Kansas City Chiefs, holds a number of NFL records at his position, including the most receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions.
He participated in 17 NFL seasons and was chosen for 14 Pro Bowls and six First-Team All-Pro teams.
Ty played as a cornerback for 15 seasons with the New England Patriots. He was twice named to the First Team All-Pro, and he assisted the New England Patriots in winning three Super Bowls.
Kevin is a football coach and he is a former football player who plays in the position of center in the NFL for the New York Jets. During his career, Mawae played in 241 games, starting 238 of them, and was selected to the Pro Bowl eight times.

Randy played as a wide receiver and he played for 14 NFL seasons. He was chosen for six Pro Bowls and is one of the top five touchdown receivers of all time.

Brian was the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005. He played in 13 NFL seasons and was selected for eight Pro Bowl Selection.
Terrell played as a football wide receiver for the Knights of Degen of Fan Controlled Football. He participated in 15 NFL seasons and he is one of the top five receivers in receiving yards and touchdown catches all-time.

Terrell played running back for the Denver Broncos. He had a career rushing total of 7,607 yards and 60 touchdowns. In 1998 he was awarded the NFL's Most Valuable Player.
Kenny played safety for the Seattle Seahawks. He has 32 interceptions, and in 1984, the NFL awarded him Defensive Player of the Year.
Jones is the Dallas Cowboys owner, and he bought the team in 1989. He has contributed to its development into one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world.
Jason played linebacker and defensive end for several teams over his career, including the Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins. He had 139.5 sacks, and he was chosen for six Pro Bowls.

Orlando played offensive tackle for the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams. He played in seven Pro Bowls and was selected to the All-Pro team five times.
Tonny worked as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was the first African-American head coach to win a Super Bowl in 2007 when he led the Colts to victory.

Charles played linebacker and defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. He was selected to five Pro Bowls and was named to the All-Pro team twice.
Bill worked as general manager for the Indianapolis Colts, Carolina Panthers, and Buffalo Bills. He was in charge of developing teams that went to the Super Bowl six times.
Seau played linebacker for the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and San Diego Chargers. He received 12 Pro Bowl selections and eight All-Pro team honors.

Walter played offensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks. He was a member of the NFL's All-Decade team for the 2000s and was selected six times to the All-Pro team.
Andre played wide receiver for the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. He ended his career with 951 receptions, 13,198 receiving yards, and 87 touchdowns

Warren Sapp played defensive tackle for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 13 seasons. He had a career-high 96.5 sacks and was a dominant pass rusher.
Jonathan played offensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens. He won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2000 and was selected to the All-Pro team six times.
Bills was a successful head coach for several NFL teams, such as the New York Giants, the New England Patriots, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was voted twice for the NFL Coach of the Year while coaching the Giants to two Super Bowl wins.

Chris played defensive end in the NFL and spent most of his career with the Minnesota Vikings. He was an outstanding pass rusher who ended his career with 150.5 sacks, which ranks seventh all-time in the NFL.
Cortez played defensive tackle for the Seattle Seahawks. He was chosen for eight Pro Bowls and was chosen as the 1992 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Willie played offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs and the New Orleans Saints. He was selected for the All-Pro team six times and was a part of the 1990s and 2000s NFL All-Decade teams.

Richard played defensive end in the National Football League for Chicago Bears. He was the game's most valuable player in Super Bowl XX and ended his career with 137.5 sacks, which ranks ninth all-time in the NFL.
Marshall spent 13 seasons playing for St. Louis Rams and the Indianapolis Colts in a running back position. He led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory and was named NFL MVP in 2000.
Shannon played for 14 seasons as a tight end in the NFL for Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens. He had a successful career with 815 catches, 10,060 receiving yards, and 62 touchdowns.
Sabol founded NFL Films, which transformed how football games were shot and broadcast to audiences. In 2003, he received the Lifetime Achievement Emmy Award.

Randle played defensive linemen for the Seattle Seahawks and the Minnesota Vikings. His 137.5 sacks place him first among defensive linemen and tenth overall.
Russ is a former football player who played guard for the Washington Redskins of the NFL.
In the 1980s, he played an important part in the team's offensive line, which helped them win three Super Bowl titles. He received four Pro Bowl selections and three All-Pro team honors.
Rickey is a former professional football linebacker for the San Francisco 49ers and the New Orleans Saints. He was inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame in 1997 and had 128 career sacks.

At 36 years, he set an NFL record in 2000 while playing for Tampa Bay, becoming the oldest player to catch a touchdown pass.
Bruce played defensive end for 19 seasons with the Washington Redskins and the Buffalo Bills. He holds the NFL record with 200 sacks in his career. He received 11 Pro Bowl selections and eight All-Pro team honors.
Derrick was a football linebacker for Kansas City Chiefs who played for 11 seasons. He got nine Pro Bowl selections and four All-Pro team honors.
Thomas was chosen by Kansas City in the fourth round of the 1989 NFL Draft while playing college football at Alabama.
Rod is a head coach of XFL's Vegas Vipers. He played football cornerback for 17 seasons with Pittsburgh Steelers, the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens, and Oakland Raiders.
He was selected for 11 Pro Bowls and made the All-Pro team six times. Rod started his career as a cornerback and eventually switched to safety.

He was known for his speed and won two Super Bowls with the Redskins.
Art is a former professional wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Jets, and the Washington Redskins. He was selected for the First Team All-Pro once and the Pro Bowl three times.
Emmit is a former cornerback of the Kansas City Chiefs who later coached the Atlanta Falcons and Kansas City Chiefs. He was chosen for the First Team All-Pro two times and played in the Pro Bowl five times.
After receiving a nomination from the Seniors Committee, Thomas was chosen to join the Pro Football Hall of Fame of the NFL.
Andre played outside linebacker for New England Patriots for 11 seasons. He led the league in sacks in 1984 and 1985 and was named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 1985.
Tippett worked as the Patriots' senior director of neighborhood affairs since 2007.
