During the match, he and his playing partner Jesper Parnevik were both disqualified for failing to swap scorecards after shooting a tournament-best 67 on Saturday and being within two shots of the lead (a rule which has been changed by the R & A).

Like many TV commentators, it's easy to overlook the fact that Sky Sports' Ewen Murray was a player before he ever stood behind a microphone.

He turned 50 in October 2004 and has established a well-deserved reputation as a superb TV commentator. Still, it is usually forgotten that he was a well-known golfer before picking up a microphone.

Murray first picked up the sport from his dad, Jimmy, the club professional at Baberton in Edinburgh. In 1971, Murray claimed the Scottish Boys Championship, the Scottish Boys Stroke Play Championship, and the World Junior Championship while still an amateur.
