The Major League Baseball team, the Chicago White Sox only has Steve Stone as the main TV announcer for now. His pair Jason Benetti recently announced that he is leaving the Sox for the Detroit Tigers.

The Detroit Tigers announced on Thursday that nationally famous broadcaster Jason Benetti will take over as the team's play-by-play television announcer for the 2023-24 season, succeeding Matt Shepard.

Benetti joined the Chicago White Sox in 2016 and became a full-time White Sox play by play announcer at the beginning of the 2019 season after Ken "Hawk" Harrelson called his professional career quits.

The Major League Baseball team has yet to announce who will take Jason Benetti's seat in the booth alongside longstanding Steve Stone.

Benetti's former announcing partner Steve Stone joined the Sox in 2005 and is still on the team. He was initially appointed by Chicago radio station WSCR as a commentator and presented a weekly talk show, which was hosted by Terry Boers, Dan Bernstein, and a few others.

Len Kasper

Len Kasper is a well-known baseball play-by-play broadcaster. For many years, he worked as a television play-by-play commentator for the Chicago Cubs.

From 2005 until 2020, Kasper worked on Chicago Cubs telecasts alongside analysts Bob Brenly and Jim Deshaies.

He also worked alongside regular radio commentators Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer on the team's radio network during the fifth inning of games that were aired nationally including postseason games.

He was recruited as a full-time TV play-by-play announcer for the Florida Marlins in 2002, working with color commentator Tommy Hutton.

He remained with the Marlins through the 2004 season before joining the Cubs in 2005. In 2011, Kasper was awarded the Harry Caray Sportscaster of the Year Award by the Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago.

He announced on December 4, 2020, that he will be leaving the Chicago Cubs TV broadcasting booth to become the principal radio announcing booth for the Chicago White Sox for WMVP 1000 AM, as well as fill-in TV work for NBC Sports Chicago, for the 2021 season.

Steve Stone

Steve Stone is a baseball broadcaster and former professional baseball player.

He pitched for multiple teams in Major League Baseball, including the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, and Baltimore Orioles.

Stone went on to become a prominent baseball commentator and broadcaster after hanging up his boots as a player.

Soon after his retirement, ABC appointed Stone as a color commentator for their Monday Night Baseball broadcasts. Stone was frequently seen alongside Al Michaels and Bob Uecker.

Stone began working as a color commentator for the Chicago Cubs' WGN television broadcasts in 1983. He sat in for Chicago White Sox color commentator Darrin Jackson in August 2007.

He was named the color commentator for White Sox radio broadcasts on WSCR AM 670 The Score for the 2008 season on March 4, 2008, replacing Chris Singleton.

Stone accepted a six-year contract as the color commentator for White Sox television broadcasts beginning with the 2009 season on September 13, 2008.

Darrin Jackson

California-born Darrin Jackson is a 60-year-old Baseball analyst who was also a former Major League Baseball Outfielder.

He spent 12 years in the major leagues, including stints with the Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, Minnesota Twins, and Milwaukee Brewers. In Japan, he also played for the Seibu Lions.

Jackson worked as a radio color analyst for the Chicago White Sox after retiring from baseball. He also works with kids' baseball programs and is a motivational speaker.

Ed Farmer

Ed Farmer was a professional baseball pitcher in the United States who played for eight different clubs, mostly in the American League, between 1971 and 1983.

He played the most games for the Chicago White Sox, with whom he appeared in one All-Star Game. He spent nearly 30 years as a White Sox radio broadcaster after retiring as a player.

He began working as a part-time color commentator on White Sox radio broadcasts in 1991, then became a full-time color commentator from 1992 to 2005.

He took up play-by-play duties from John Rooney in 2006 and continued to do so until the 2019 season, working with broadcast partners Chris Singleton, Steve Stone, and Darron Jackson.

Farmer worked as a White Sox broadcaster for around 29 seasons. His last broadcast was a Cactus League game at the White Sox spring training in February 2020.
