The Detroit Tigers announced on Thursday that nationally famous broadcaster Jason Benetti will take over as the team's play-by-play television announcer for the 2023-24 season, succeeding Matt Shepard.
Benetti joined the Chicago White Sox in 2016 and became a full-time White Sox play by play announcer at the beginning of the 2019 season after Ken "Hawk" Harrelson called his professional career quits.
The Major League Baseball team has yet to announce who will take Jason Benetti's seat in the booth alongside longstanding Steve Stone.
