The Championship Wimbledon is one of the most reputable and oldest tournaments. For the past ten years, several brilliant players have taken part and won the title with a glamorous trophy. 

And every year, champions have not failed to surprise the tennis fanatics with their energetic performance. However, the tournament was canceled in 2020 when the Covid-19 hit the world. 

Nevertheless, the comeback in 2021 was more powerful than before. Now that the most awaited 2022 championship has arrived- Let's take a peek at the winners of the past ten years. 

Wimbledon Men's Singles And The Champs

1. Roger Federer

A former world no. 1, Roger Federer has won the Wimbledon Championship eight times, including in 2012 and 2017. He is a Swiss professional tennis player, recently on his healing journey from a knee injury. 

Although Roger couldn't take part in the tournament, he hopes to make a come back in the autumn of 2022 for Laver Cup in September. He has recently undergone his third knee surgery and has returned to the gym, preparing for his return.

2. Andy Murray

Two times Wimbledon champion of 2013 and 2016, Andy Murray recently suffered from an abdominal injury and had to cancel the Queen's club championship. However, his followers still expect to see him in The Championships 2022 as he recovers from it. 

He went through several hip surgeries and still made a strong comeback. No wonder people are excited about his return to the Wimbledon after years. 

3. Novac Djokovic

ATP ranked no 3 Novac Djokovic has won five Wimbledon championships in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2021 in the past years, with an additional one in 2011. However, 2022 doesn't seem to be going his way with all the COVID-19 vaccine controversy on the player. 

Due to the vaccine policy, he previously couldn't go further in the French Open. Novac, who has earned a name in the Wimbledon tournament, mentioned having personal freedom for vaccination.

1. Jonathan Marray And Frederik Nielsen

2012 Wimbledon Men's Doubles winners Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen both have retired from their tennis journey in the present day. 

Jonathan retired in February 2017. He was recently involved in the Tennis Masterclass, where the young tennis player got the opportunity to ask about his training regime. 

As for the player Frederik, he announced leaving his decades of tennis journey. He last played in the Australian Open and is currently enjoying his retirement. 

2. Bob And Mike Bryan 

2013 Wimbledon Men's Double champions Bob and Mike Bryan retired in August 2020. The twin brother is often known for dominating the tennis field while playing. 

Despite leaving the court, their love for tennis still exists. There is also an official website on the Bryan Brothers with the same name, highlighting their tennis journey. 

3. Vasek Pospisil & Jack Sock

Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock are the 2014 Men's Wimbledon double champions, who are also renowned for their single matches. In 2022, both Vasek and Jack have participated in the Wimbledon, looking forward to their win in their tournament. 

While the matches lie ahead, the players have started preparation for the championship. 

4. Jean-Julien Rojer & Horia Tecau

Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau are the 2015 Men's Wimbledon double winners who outshined the court with their terrific performance at that time. 

Rojer has participated in the Halle Open 2022 while furthering to the semi-final. His 2015 partner Horia retired from tennis in 2022 after his long career. 

5. Pierre-Hugues Herbert & Nicolas Mahut

6. Lukasz Kubot & Marcelo Melo 

Lukasz Kubot managed to win the 2017 Wimbledon double championship with Marcelo Melo 2017. In 2022, he competed in French Open in Men's Doubles and mixed doubles.

9. Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic

2021-tennis double champs Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic, the partnership remains unbreakable in tennis with a brilliant level of understanding. They currently participate in Eastbourne International and look forward to their next match as of round 16. 

Wimbledon Women's Singles And The Champs

1. Serena Williams 

Six-times Wimbledon Women's Singles champ, including 2012, 2015, and 2016, Serena Williams currently plays in Eastbourne International. 

In 2022, she would be returning to the Wimbledon Champions, aiming for the prize money. 

2. Marion Bartoli 

2013 Women's single champ, Maron Bartoli, retired on 14 August 2013. She currently comments on the tennis tournament matches in the Amazon Prime Video Sport. 

3. Petra Kvitova 

Petra Kvitova is a 2014 women's singles Wimbledon champion, currently competing in Eastbourne International. Also, she is on the entry list for the upcoming 2022 tournament for the championship.

1. Serena & Venus Williams 

Serena and Venus Williams are best-known as the tennis sister who won the 2012 and 2016 Wimbledon women's doubles. 

Venus recently mentioned that she is not making her come back in the 2022 Wimbledon, instead will be watching Serena perform while cheering for her. 

2. Hsieh Su-wei & Peng Shuai  

2013 women's double champ Hsieh Su-Wei is reported pregnant in 2022. She missed the Australia Open tournament and might probably miss Wimbledon 2022 too. 

As for Peng, she retired in February 2022 and mentioned the subsequent events and social posts. 

3. Sara Errani & Roberta Vinci 

2014 Wimbledon women's double champion Roberta Vinci retired on 14 May 2018 and will not participate in the upcoming tournament. 

As for Sara, she recently played in WTA 125k Gaiba. Nevertheless, she seems to be up for the coming women's tournament. 

4. Martina Hingis & Sania Mirza

7. Barbora Strycova
