Ashley is the elder brother of Airyanna and was a college-level athlete. He graduated from Tennessee State University in 2020 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications.
The six-foot track and field champion bagged several wins during his time there. He is the 2020 OVC Indoor 4X400M Relay Champion and the 2019 OVC Outdoor 400M Hurdles Champion.
Ashley also captured the 2019 title of Outdoor 4x400M Relay Bronze Medalist, Outdoor 110M Hurdles Bronze Medalist, and Indoor 4X400M Relay Champion.
Before his time with the Tennessee State Tigers, Ashley had spent his first two collegiate seasons at Iowa Central Community College. He helped them win back-to-back NJCAA Indoor National Championships in 2016 and 2017.
