Simone Biles - American Gymnast
Simona Biles started a partnership with Athleta in April 2021. Biles became the second athlete to join hands with Athleta, whilst leaving Nike.
Biles holds the record for being the most decorated gymnast in the Gynmast World Championships while accumulating 25 World medals.
Simona has 19 Gold medals out of the 25 she has won in a short span of time. The 26-year-old is considered one of the greatest gymnasts ever.
The artistic gymnast is also the recipient of the youngest Presidential Medal of Freedom. Apart from gymnastics, she is an advocate for mental health and foster care.
Albane Valenzuela - Golf
Albane Valenzuela is a Swiss professional golfer born in New York City. Albane became a citizen of Switzerland at the age of 14.
Valenzuela is currently playing in the LPGA Tour since turning pro in 2019. She played collegiate golf at Stanford University and graduated in 2020 with a degree in political science.
She did not just graduate with a degree but was also awarded the highly coveted Phi Beta Kappa and the Edith Cummings Munson Award.
Apart from playing golf, Valenzuela has become a global citizen and with her brother, she founded an autism awareness foundation. Her best finish in Major Championships was a T4 finish in the Chevron Championship in 2023.
Brenna Huckaby - Paralympic Snowboarding
Brenna Huckaby is an American snowboarder with 3 Gold medals in Paralympic snowboarding. She has also won three World Championships.
Her first championship win was in snowboard cross in 2015. Huckaby later won the world championships in both snowboard cross and banked slalom in 2017.
Brenna is also the first Paralympian to have appeared in the Swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated in 2018. She is an advocate for disability inclusion and has two beautiful daughters, Lilah and Sloane.
Huckaby was previously a competitive and nationally-ranked gymnast. However, she had to switch to snowboarding due to bone cancer which resulted in the amputation of her leg above the knee. She was 15 when she learned snowboarding.
Heather O’Reilly - Soccer
Athleta Ambassador Heather O’Reilly is a soccer player for the North Carolina Courage. She represented the United States and has 231 caps.
O’Reilly plays as a midfielder and has 47 international goals. Apart from winning the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, she is also a three-time Olympic Gold medalist.
Even at the age of 38, Heather is still going strong. Interestingly, the veteran midfielder is currently serving as a player/coach for the league side.
Apart from soccer, O’Reilly is looking to foster leadership skills in young women by launching a mentorship program for them. Fair enough to say, she is a class act both on and off the pitch.
Jesse “Flex” Labreck - American Ninja Warrior
Jesse “Flex” Labreck is a professional athlete who competed in the popular reality show, American Ninja Warrior (ANW).
Labreck has broken several records on ANW and is an inspiration for a lot of men and women of all ages. Her sheer strength and determination really make her stand out from the rest.
Jesse was a rookie sensation and was the first rookie to qualify for the Las Vegas Finals. She became the first female to hit five buzzers and created history in ANW history.
Moreover, Labreck was a caregiver of a young girl named Emeline Sterpe, who had cerebral palsy. She continues her role and passion as she is an advocate for disability and also founded and operates her own gym in Naperville, Illinois.
Jessica Mendoza - Softball
Jessica Ofelia Mendoza is another notable ambassador of Athleta. Mendoza is a former softball player who excelled in the role of an outfielder.
She attended Stanford University and represented the Stanford Cardinals in collegiate softball. Jessica won Gold in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games while representing Team USA.
After her illustrious softball career, Jessica Mendoza became the first-ever female analyst for the MLB games that were televised nationally.
Mendoza is currently a color commentator and analyst for ESPN coverage of MLB and also for the LA Dodgers on Spectrum SportsNet LA.
Apart from her sports and media career, Jessica is also an ambassador for humanitarian efforts and strongly advocates for women athletes.
Katie Zaferes - Triathlon
Katie Zaferes is a professional triathlete who won the 2019 ITU World Triathlon Series women's championship. Katie turned professional in 2013.
Zaferes is also the 2020 Tokyo Olympics silver and bronze medalist for the United States in triathlon. She attended Syracuse University and was a member of the cross country and track and field teams.
In 2015, Katie married Tommy Zaferes, who also happens to be a triathlete. The triathlete couple are blessed with a son named Kimble born in July 2022. She has devoted herself to well-being advocacy.
Mariah Bell - Figure Skating
Mariah Bell is also a Gold medalist in the ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating in 2019. Mariah recently announced her retirement in 2022.
In 2022, Bell won the US Figure Skating National Championship at the age of 25, making her the oldest to do so since 1927. Moreover, she was also the oldest American skater to take part in the Olympics since 1928.
In honor of her grandmother, Mariah Bell has been an advocate for Alzheimer's research. After bidding adieu from her professional career, Bell will only be performing at ice shows in the future.
Monica Puig - Tennis
Monica Puig is a 29-year-old former Puerto Rican tennis player. Puig retired from the sport at an early age in 2022 due to recurring injuries.
Since turning pro in 2010, she won two WTA singles titles and six ITF singles titles in her career. She achieved the highest ranking of 27 in 2016.
The 2016 Olympic Gold medalist has a newfound passion for running. She has planned to run in all six major marathons by 2024 along with her husband.
Puig is also a live commentator in Spanish for ESPN and the Tennis Channel. She supports the Hurricane Maria relief efforts in her home country.
As a former professional athlete herself, Monica has been strongly advocating for tennis outreach programs in underprivileged communities.
Monique Billings - Basketball
Monique Billings is a professional WNBA player born in Riverside, California. Monique was picked 15th overall by Atlanta in the 2018 WNBA Draft.
Billings' father had suffered from Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and the forward has been an advocate for ALS research. She also wrote her first book due to her passion for wellness.
The power forward is an inspiration on and off the basketball court. She has presented herself as the perfect role model for generations to come.
Natalie Coughlin - Swimming
Natalie Anne Coughlin Hall is a 12-time Olympic medalist. Natalie has won 3 Olympic Golds and a total of 25 Gold medals in her amazing career.
The 40-year-old is one of the most decorated swimmers. Coughlin attended the University of California and represented the college team.
After her retirement from professional swimming, Natalie changed gears to dancing when she competed in season 9 of Dancing with the Stars.
She has a book called Golden Girl and cooking is her favorite hobby. Coughlin is advocating for several non-profit organizations and has also launched her own wine label.
Winter Vinecki - Freestyle Aerial Skiing
Team Winter, a non-profit organization for raising money for prostate cancer research was founded by freestyle aerial skiing star, Winter Vinecki.
Vinecki was previously a triathlon athlete and later transitioned into freestyle skiing. She has conquered all seven continents as she completed a marathon on each of the continents and also became the youngest to do so.
She is currently preparing for the 2026 games. Furthermore, Winter Vinecki has been credited with several awards for her humanitarian efforts.
