CBS Female Football Announcer Beth Mowins
Beth Mowins is the only CBS female football announcer in 2023. She is the play-by-play voice for select games this season and was part of the Week 3 broadcast.
She primarily calls women's college games but does not shy away from calling men's major sports. She became the second woman to call college football games that were nationally televised in 2005. The games were broadcast by ESPN.
Female NFL announcer Beth Mowins is also a play-by-play voice for several networks such as ESPN, and Marquee Sports, calling for several sports.
She started handling the play-by-play role for NFL games back in 2017. In doing so, she became the first female announcer to call NFL games that were televised nationally.
Mowins holds a record for another first. She became the first woman to take on the play-by-play announcer duties for an NBA game which was covered on network TV. She did so in 2021.
She is a veteran in the world of sportscasters having started her career in 1991. She started as a news and sports director for WXHC-FM Radio.
Her journey started with ESPN when she joined the network in 1994 and was tasked with covering college sports. She was also part of the broadcast team for the coverage of the 2011 Women's World Cup.
She also became the voice for the preseason broadcast of the NFL side Oakland Raiders (now Las Vegas Raiders) in 2015. Later in 2017, Mowins went on to become the first female voice in the history of CBS Sports to call college basketball games, the NBA, and the NFL.

The top three teams have returned for the 2023 season unchanged and will be led by Jim Nantz. The pool of broadcasters that CBS has lined up are all experienced and talented.
NFL on CBS announcers are Jim Nantz, Ian Eagle, Kevin Harlan, Andrew Catalon, Spero Dedes, Tom McCarthy, and Chris Lewis in 2023.
Ian Eagle will be part of the second team and will have former quarterback Trent Green as an analyst. Evam Washburn completes the #2 team as he is the sideline reporter.
Female announcer Beth Mowins replaced McCarthy during the Week 3 broadcast and will also be continuing her play-by-play duties for other select games. Renner will also be the sideline reporter for select games.
NFL on CBS commentators have Tony Romo, Charles Davis, Trent Green, Tiki Barner, Adam Archuleta, James Lofton, Jay Feely, Jason McCourty, and Ross Tucker.
Kinkhabwala will also be among the returning faces for the season alongside Justin Walters and Amanda Guerra. There are many familiar faces for the 2023 broadcast of the NFL with a few shuffle between the pairings here and there.
CBS NFL sideline reporters will be led by Tracy Wolfson as she part of team #1. Evan Washburn will be second, Melanie Collins will be #3, and AJ Ross #4.
Matt Ryan and Jason McCourty are the new additions to the broadcast team for this season. The two former NFL stars will both be serving as analysts from the booth. McCourty's team also has a new addition in the likes of Chris Lewis who will be taking on the play-by-play announcer role.

The pregame show for the telecast of the NFL by CBS is branded as The NFL Today. The show primarily focuses on commentary regarding the latest news around the league and players. They also predict game plans and results alongside conducting interviews with players and coaches alike.
The show made its debut in 1962 as the Pro Football Kickoff and the current name of the show was introduced in 1964 until 1974. It again aired with the same name from 1975 to 1994 and has been used since 1998.
James Brown has been the pregame host since 2006 has once again returned in the same role. The veteran sportscaster has been loved by many for his role as the show host
Phil Simms has returned as the studio analyst. The two-time Super Bowl champion has been serving as an analyst for the network since 2017 and will be teaming up with fellow analyst Nate Burleson.
Burleson too joined the pregame show back in 2017 and is among the familiar faces of the program. The former wide receiver is also part of the pregame crew serving as an analyst.
Esiason is another veteran sports broadcaster and has been an analyst for The NFL Today since 2002. He is the longest-serving member of the current team.
Jonathan Jones serves as an NFL insider and will be coming up with all the latest news on the teams and players. He will be the closest to the teams and will be updating the viewers with all NFL-related news. This will be his second season on the pregame show cast.
The team will have a new face this season in the likes of former NFL defensive end and three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J. J. Watt. He will be taking up the role as an analyst and will be making frequent appearances thorughout the season.
