Daniel Jones and his three siblings are athletes belonging to four different sports. Daniel was raised in North Carolina.
The New York Giants quarterback, Daniel Jones, had a rocky start to his footballing career but was constantly backed by not only his family but also by the NFL legend Eli Manning.
And the 25-year-old has not let them down. The North Carolina native has become the reason for the happiness of the Giants fans as they now celebrate earning their first postseason berth since 2016.
On New Year's day, the Giants ran out victorious against the Colts as the name of Daniel Jones rang around MetLife Stadium. The Duke graduate is ready to put himself in the shoes of Eli Manning as he certainly pictures himself leading out the Giants for Super Bowl one day.
Daniel Jones Siblings Are All Athletic
Daniel Jones and his three siblings are all athletes who grew up in North Carolina. Jones grew up in a tight-knit sports family.
Daniel, the second oldest of the four, is a younger brother to Becca Jones and an older brother to Ruthie and Bates. Though all four excelled in their respective sports, not all of them chose to go the same route as Daniel and become professional athletes.
Becca Jones
Becca Jones, age 27, is a former Davidson Wild Cats hockey player. While as part of Wild Cats, Becca, who takes her name from her mother, played as a midfielder and, at times, as a forward.
At Davidson, along with pursuing her passion for hockey, she also focused on academics and graduated with a degree in Arts and history. Currently an associate at Battery Ventures, Becca previously worked as an intern at TIAA and Joe Trippi and Associates.
The latter is a full-service media firm based in Washington, D.C. But before moving to work with Battery Ventures, Becca worked at the prestigious global investment management firm Barings for four years.
Bates Jones
Bates Jones, age 23, followed in his brother's footsteps and committed to Davidson Wildcats but as a basketball player. Bates later transferred to Duke university after four years at Davidson.
Bates held the forward position and graduated with a degree in history and a minor in economics from Davidson in 2021. In May 2022, he graduated with a master's degree from Duke's Fuqua School of Business.
Bates is still working in the Dukes' basketball program and holds the graduate assistant position.
Ruthie Jones
Ruthie Jones, age 21, is a soccer player at Dukes University. The youngest member of the Jones family, Ruthie, has already represented her nation at the under-23 level.
In Dukes' soccer team, Ruthie is the starting goalkeeper and has made 45 appearances for the Blue Devils. Ruthie is available on Instagram with the username @ruthie.jones01 and has made 60 posts which consist of snaps with her family members and teammates.
Ruthie is on her way to graduating from Dukes in 2023 with a degree in psychology and a minor in Spanish.
Daniel Jones Parents Becca and Steve Jones
Daniel Jones parents Becca and Steve Jones raised four elite-level athletes.
Some parents get exhausted attending even a single program for their kids; however, Becca and Steve found excitement in seeing their children at various programs.
Becca Jones, the mother of Daniel Jones, has a long history with Davidson. So it's no wonder that three of her kids were part of the Davidson family. A woman who believed in excelling in academics and co-curricular activities, Becca graduated with a degree in Spanish and literature with a grade of 4.0 from the Queen's University of Charlotte in 2008.
Prior to that, she earned her political science degree from Davidson in 1985. The alumna of Davidson College, Becca has worked as a translator and tutor for Charlotte-Mecklenburg School, a position she held for nine years.
Speaking to Athletic in 2019, Becca said she never felt like attending the games was a burden but was more of a fun experience. A feeling that her husband, Steve, agrees with.
Steve Jones had doubts about whether Daniel could ever become a football player. It wasn't as if Steve wasn't supportive of his son's athletic career, as he saw Daniel more as a basketball player than a football player.
Steve certainly doesn't mind that his son proved him wrong, as he has now become a star player in the NFL. The pair make sure to travel to MetLife Stadium now and then to cheer for their son as he is working to cement a legacy of his own in the NFL.
Daniel Jones Family
Daniel Jones family has a rule that everyone needs to be in attendance at their respective games.
A tradition that has only grown in the last few years as Daniel made his breakthrough in the NFL. Steve and Becca never thought their son would become a football player as, during high school, Daniel only had one offer, which was from Princeton.
Jones' mom and dad call him a late bloomer which sounds custom-made for Daniel as it was in the later half of his football career that his name was in everybody's tongue. Becca, Ruthie, and Bates are all athletes and, as his parents say, are the reason for his high level of competitiveness.
From a young age, the quarterback developed a healthy sense of completion because of his brother and sisters, which has helped him vastly in his NFL career.
As reported by The Sun, Daniel is currently in a relationship with Duke graduate Ella Bonafede. His girlfriend is also an athlete and has played in the school's lacrosse team.
The two have kept their relationship out of the public spotlight as they are not the biggest fans of social media. Daniel's last Instagram post was in 2020, and Ella has kept her account private.
