Jb Mauney has not retired yet after having a decorated career as a bull rider. Jb Mauney now competes in PRCA since 2021.
He began riding in the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) in 2005 and won the world championship in 2013 and 2015.
In his first-year competition in 2006, he won Rookie of the year. He qualified 15 times for the PBR World finals.
Throughout his early professional years, Mauney used a helmet when competing. However, he started wearing a cowboy hat around 2013.
Mauney won the world title in 2013 with a 90-point ride on the bucking bull superstar Bushwacker.
He became one of three bull riders to stay on Bushwacker for eight seconds and one of two bull riders to do it on the Built Ford Tough Series.

Mauney suffered several injuries in 2017 and 2018 that may have ended his professional bull riding career but he didn't give up.
He kept focusing on his career even after suffering a right shoulder injury on July 14, 2017. He was also hospitalized in 2018 with a severe back injury but recovered and resumed his career.
In 2018, he shared on his Instagram post that he was not retiring even after a severe back injury. He said in an interview with PBR.com that he wanted his fans to be aware of how he was feeling following a wreck that led to him injuring his back.
Mauney continued by saying that he would decide when to quit his career on his profession. He claimed he still thought he could ride them at the time. He stated, "As long as he believes, he will continue to show up."
Mauney speaks about his retirement in the podcast Rodeo Time with Dale Brisby. He was asked if he got upset when people assumed he had retired or if he got upset that they were even bringing it up.
Mauney replied "About it like you're here to do you I just yeah I'm not really I don't care every but it just irritates me. Read the comments yeah I mean man well your biggest fan are you retired well."
In January 2019, he went back to riding bulls and again broke his left leg and tore his knee.
Although suffering a broken left leg and torn ligaments in his left knee, Mauney defeated fellow two-time World Champion Justin McBride and took first place in the Bad Boy Mowdown in Little Rock in March 2019.

Mauney decided to try his luck in the PRCA after finding little success during the first few competitions of the 2021 PBR season.
In July 2021, he decided to stop competing in the PBR to concentrate entirely on participating in the PRCA and reaching his first-ever National Finals Rodeo (NFR).

Mauney revealed in 2021 that he would be competing at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo after concentrating on his PBR career.
According to Pbr.com, Mauney's original intention was to compete in PBR once again during the 2021 PBR season, but he chose to rest his body in preparation for the NFR.
He began competing in PRCA ProRodeos in June 2021 after winning the Reno Rodeo standings.
His impressive summer run pushed him to fifth place in the PRCA bull riding rankings, indicating that he had finally earned a spot in the NFR.
On September 9, 2021, he lacerated his kidney during a 90-point ride at the Tri-State Rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Before being eligible for his first Wrangler NFR in Las Vegas in December 2021, Mauney had numerous facial abrasions during the competition.
Jb Mauney Set Season Debut In 2022
Jb Mauney is in action to make his season debut. Mauney has not taken part in any competitions since losing in Round 10 of the 2021 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
On December 7, 2022 Mauney was seen warming up horses. He shared a post on his Instagram account with the caption "Just helping @chase_cervi warm up his horses!"
He has also joined in Teton Ridge's daily NFL live pre-show. Mauney shared a post of NFR live on his Instagram account with the caption "Vegas."
He is a two time bull riding world champion and his dream is to ride each of the 10 bulls. Mauney placed 12th in the 2021 PRCA, RAM World Standings.
