Jake Oettinger parents are Chris Oettinger and Kelly Oettinger. Jake was born to them on December 18, 1998.
The Stars goaltender attended Lakeville North High School and played for Boston University during his collegiate days.
Both the old folks are immensely supportive of his hockey career and motivated him to pursue the sport from an early age. In fact, it all started with a simple question from Jake to his father asking if he can try out hockey.

Otter was a massive fan of Marc-Andre Fleury while growing up and really looked after him as an idol. Kelley had gifted Jake a Fleury Fathead in his childhood which actually hung in the room throughout the early years.
Years later, he not only played against his childhood hero but also received a stick from Fleury during the match against Chicago in Feb 2022.

Jake has two younger siblings Thomas Oettinger and Kendall Oettinger. Thomas is the youngest member in the lineage of three.
In an interview with the Athletic, the Dallas goaltender spoke about his little kinfolks being his favorite people in the entire world.
His sister Kendall is currently ten years old whereas Thomas is eight. Kendall loves going out shopping, buying new clothes, eating ice cream, and hanging out. Otter cherishes spending quality time with the little ones and often takes them for a day out.
Jake Oettinger brother Thomas is also passionate about sports and often plays knee hockey in a reserved makeshift arena in the home. Apart from that, Thomas also prefers playing football and buying gift cards for video games.
Furthermore, they also played a game of laser tag at the Mall of America in Bloomington last year. Otter is more than pleased to spoil his siblings for a day and feels amazing to let them do all of the things they want to do.
Both Kendall and Thomas often attend the arena to cheer for their athlete brother and watch his matches on television during the schooldays.

Jake Oettinger is currently in a close-knit relationship with Kennedi Schumacher. The adorable couple started dating on 5 October 2019.
They know each other from the very early days and their staggering bond gradually turned into resounding love with the passage of time.
