The Pedersons have been exposed to sports since childhood, with their mom and dad being former players. Both Joc and his brother, Tyger, were drafted by the Dodgers.

Joc was chosen in the eleventh round of the 2010 MLB Draft out of Palo Alto High School. He was deemed as the Dodgers' top prospect following the 2013 season. He made his debut in the top leagues in 2014.

After six seasons with the Dodgers, Pederson inked a one-year contract with the Chicago Bulls but was later swapped to the Atlanta Braves in July 2021. He then sealed a one-year deal with the San Francisco Giants in March 2022.

Before heading to Florida to join Team Israel in the World Baseball Classic, Joc will play one more preseason match with the San Francisco Giants on March 10, 2023.

Joc Pederson Childhood

Joc Pederson mom and dad are from Paolo Alto in California. Shelly and Stu have been married for 37 years, saying their vows in October 1985.

Stu and his son, Joc, share a strong passion for baseball and have much in common beyond their love for the sport.

In 1981, Stu was picked by the team his son plays for in the ninth round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. While Joc has achieved more success professionally than his father, Stu's baseball teachings likely played a vital role in Joc's success.

Stu and his wife, Shelly, raised four children who all excelled in Little League and have gone on to achieve great things as young adults.

Despite facing rejection from the baseball industry, his dad remained devoted to the sport and used it to teach his children valuable life lessons. He overcame any bitterness he may have felt about his own stalled career and parented his children through the game he loved.

Joc Pederson Dad

Joc's father, Stu Russell Pederson, was a baseball outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers team in Major League Baseball.

He was chosen by the Dodgers in the 9th round (228th overall) during the 1981 MLB draft while attending the University of Southern California.

Pederson's baseball career started with the Single-A Lodi Dodgers, where he hit a home run in his first at-bat. He ended his first professional season with a walk-off home run, helping Lodi win the 1981 California League Championship.

Joc Pederson Siblings

Aside from having a sports background, Joc and his siblings share a close bond, and their unwavering support for each other is seen in the post that they have made on their social media accounts.

Jacey Pederson

Jacey first set foot on a soccer pitch in kindergarten, back when "Kinder Soccer" was all the rage. She despised it, and it took her two practices to decide she'd had enough and didn't want to go back.

Growing up, she had no clue what sport she wanted to play in college, but she knew she wanted to be involved in sports. Jacey tried her hand at volleyball, track & field, and softball, but her favorite sports were soccer and basketball.

Ultimately, she picked soccer in seventh grade and devoted all her attention and time to it.
