LIV payouts to golfers is $4 million for the winner of an individual event. Each LIV Golf tournament offers a total prize purse of $25 million.

Launched as the direct competitor to PGA Tour Golf in 2022, LIV events are providing significantly higher prize money to golfers compared to the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour events have an average purse of $7.5 million, with the winner bagging home $1.5 million.

Meanwhile, the LIV Golf tournaments offer a guaranteed minimum of $25 million per event, with $20M going to the individual competition and $5 M for the team contest.

The player who wins an individual tournament gets $4 million and the runner-up receives $2.25 million. Anyone who comes in last place in the 48-player tournaments gets $120,000.

Similarly, the team prize money is $3 million for the champions, which they share among their four players.

The 2020 Masters champion Dustin Johnson leads the LIV Golf prize money standings with $35.6 million he earned from all the events since the league's inception in 2022.

During the first season of the LIV Golf Tour, Johnson was part of the 4 Aces GC team. Under his captaincy, he led 4 Aces to four straight tournament wins.

Besides, his first LIV events individual trophy came in September 2022 when he registered victory over Anirban Lahiri and Joaquín Niemann at the LIV Golf Invitational Boston.

Moreover, in 2023, Johnson won the LIV Golf Tulsa at the Cedar Ridge Country Club in May.

As the Liv Golf Bedminster came to an end on August 13, Talor Gooch sits at the top of the 2023 money list, having secured three impressive victories in the LIV Golf League.

Gooch finished at the top of the LIV Golf Adelaide that took place at The Grange Gold Club, Australia. The Oklahoma native continued his success in the following event clinching LIV Golf Singapore in April, making it two wins in a row.

Although the details of the LIV Golf contracts are confidential, a recent report has revealed some information about the substantial agreements that players like Phil Mickelson, Cameron Smith, and Dustin Johnson have entered into.

Mickelson is the most decorated golfer to have signed for the Saudi-backed golf tour. He agreed on a $200 million worth contract spanning over 3 years till 2025.

Kevin Na became the first PGA Tour member to leave in order to associate with LIV Golf on June 4, 2022, 

Similarly, in June 2022, Dustin Johnson decided to switch from playing in the PGA Tour to joining LIV. During his 14-year experience on PGA Tour, he claimed 24 wins alongside two major championships, the 2016 US Open and the 2020 Masters Tournament.

Johnson received $125 million for his four-year agreement with LIV.

In June 2022, Bryson DeChambeau shared news of his partnership with LIV Golf. This comes after he previously dismissed rumors of his departure from the PGA to join LIV a few months prior.

The 2020 US Open victor reportedly amassed $125 million from his contract, which is even bigger than his total career prize money combined.

Brooks Koepka joined LIV after Bryson on June 22, 2022. It has been reported that his contract deal is worth $100 million. So far in his career, the 33-year-old athlete has won five major championships, including two US Open and the 3 PGA Championships.

There has been a growing trend of PGA players joining LIV Golf, and it recently reached a new climax when James Piot, the 2021 US Amateur champion James Piot, transitioned to the professional ranks in May 2022. 

Piot made the decision to participate in the inaugural LIV Golf tournament despite not yet being a member of the PGA Tour.

Furthermore, in August 2022, just before the fourth event in Boston, LIV Golf welcomed six new players to their tour. One of them was Cameron Smith, who had won the Open championship and was the second-best golfer in the world.

Another new player was Joaquín Niemann, a golfer from Chile who was ranked 19th in the world. Sergio Garcia, the Spanish professional, joined LIV in April 2023 for a substantial sum of $40 million.
