The Sports network was launched in 2005 as a joint venture between the Nationals and the Orioles. And by 2007, Baltimore formed their own set of MLB broadcasting team consisting of Gary Thorne, who remained the primary play-by-play for 13 years till 2020. 

As the years went by, the channel began to expand, and now the Orioles consists of four staff with K. Brown leading the studio.

Brown spent several years as the voice of Time Warner Cable and ESPN and replaced Gary Thorne, who had been with the Orioles for over a decade. His proficiency in capturing the excitement of the game has made him a priceless asset to the Orioles' broadcasting crew.

Scott Garceau joined the Baltimore Orioles' broadcasting team in 2020 as a fill-in play-by-play announcer. 

He was promoted to the main play-by-play announcer for the Orioles Radio Network, WBAL, in 2022. Garceau has been in the sports broadcasting industry for over three decades, covering numerous professional teams, including the Baltimore Ravens and Washington Wizards. 

Melanie Newman, the pioneer female play-by-play broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles, is the latest addition on-air squad, joining in 2022.

Besides, she works for other projects within the Orioles network as a leading sideline reporter and the host of O's Xtra.

Newman is also the secondary announcer for the Orioles radio network WBAL. Newman is passionate about sports broadcasting and has covered several baseball teams, including the Salem Red Sox, and covers the Friday Night Baseball show on Apple TV+.

Lastly, Geoff Arnold is another fill-in play-by-play announcer for the Orioles' who came on board in 2020. Arnold has a background in broadcasting and journalism, having worked for several news outlets, including NBC News and CNN.

The crew includes play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter, reporter/analyst Jim Palmer, substitute announcer Tom Davis, and Charlie Slowes. Each, with its unique blend of apprehension, provides insight to keep the fans engaged throughout the game.

Bob Carpenter is the prominent play-by-play announcer for the Washington Nationals, having served in this role since 2006.

He provided insightful commentary during pre and post-game shows in 2021. With over four decades of broadcasting experience, Carpenter adds significant value to the MASN Nationals broadcasting team.

On the other hand, Dan Kolko is a versatile member of the Nationals broadcasting unit. He has been the main host of Nats Xtra since 2019 and also serves as the primary sideline reporter since 2021.

Dan's flexibility is seen in his ability to fill in as a play-by-play announcer, color commentator, field reporter, and studio host. 

Dave Jageler is a fill-in play-by-play who joined the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network announcers in 2006. Jageler previously worked as a commentator talk show host and game caller for the Jayson Tatum-led Boston Celtics radio network. His experience in baseball broadcasting is evident in the quality of his commentary. 

Charlie Slowes is a substitute play-by-play announcer who has been a part of the Mid-Atlantic Nationals studio crew since 2006. Along with Dave Jageler, he forms a dynamic duo in the team's radio broadcast booth on WJFK-FM 106.7.

Before joining the Nationals, Slowes commented on Washington Capitals (1986–97) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (1998–2004).

To watch MASN on Verizon Fios, tune in to channel 577 for MASN HD or channel 77 for SD.

Similarly, in the late 2010s, the network launched its secondary channel, MASN2, to cover the growing demand for content and broadcasts. Verizon Fios subscribers can catch MASN2 on their TV by switching to channel 579 for HD or channel 79 for SD.

Unfortunately, if the user is unaware of the channel line, they can look for the Fios channel guide, which provides a comprehensive list of all available channels.

Press the "Guide" button on the remote or visit the Verizon Fios website, then look for MASN in the Sports category to find the channel number.

Mid-Atlantic Sports Network can be accessed through 23 local and fiberoptic cable providers across multiple geographies. It includes Maryland, Washington DC, Columbia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.

Moreover, Fios is not the only telecommunications company that offers the networks. Some other providers include Comcast, Charter Communications, Cox, and Mediacom.

However, for those living outside the coverage areas, there are several ways to access the the networks, one via satellite through a DirecTV subscription.
