NBC commentator Mike Tirico has a daughter, Cammi Tirico, who aims to have a golf career. Cammi is an A student with a 4.0 GPA in high school.
He has been a sportscaster since the 1990s. And, he covered the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Cammi Tirico Played Golf, Basketball And Soccer In Highschool
Cammi Tirico attended Skyline High School for four years where she played golf, basketball, and soccer. She was able to collect a total of 10 varsity letters, 4 each from golf and basketball and 2 from soccer.
She took full advantage of the extracurricular activities of her high school. She participated in Mock Trial, served as the editor of The Communicator High School's newsmagazine, was a Restorative Justice Mentor, and belonged to Skyline DECA. She worked as a YMCA coach and summer camp counselor during the "off-season." She has also given a Ted-Talk on "The Importance of High School Journalism".
On top of her sports and extracurricular achievements she also graduated with a perfect score of 4.0 GPA.
Cammi started playing golf just for fun with her dad and grandfather. She played golf in her freshman year with one of her close friends and started enjoying it more. She was coached by Ashley Mantha and she loved spending time with her teammates and quickly fell in love with the sport.
Some of her fondest memories are car rides with the girls from and to matches. During her senior year, she earned a spot in the MHSAA Division 1 Golf State Finals, shooting an 84 at Regionals. The 84 was the best of her career.
However the day had a bittersweet ending, she was able to secure a spot for herself at the state level but her team missed the states.
During the state-level match, all of her family and many of her friends were present to support her. She played with the mentality of just having fun and enjoying her time at the golf course. Despite the last rounds being stressful, she did well for herself in the end.
Cammi Is Proud Of Her Basketball Career
She was the main point guard for the Eagles, her school's team in her freshman year. She had a lot of pressure on her shoulders. Her team didn't always win but that didn't affect their motivation for training and they always worked hard.
During her senior year because of her medical condition, she couldn't be present in court. However, after her recovery, she led the Eagles to their first win of the season. She credits her positive attitude to her team who never gave up.
Cammi's father, Trico is a sportscaster but her mom, Debbie was the true athlete. Debbie is Cammi's role model.
Debbie coached Cammi since elementary school. She even coached Cammi's basketball team throughout elementary and middle school.
Debbie taught Cammi all the basics, fundamental defense, and different basketball passing moves. Both mother and daughter are below Five-foot-3-inches, so they have to be the hardest worker on the court.
After her time at Skyline, she attended Northwestern University.
