Kevin Chappell, who has won on the PGA Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour, repeated and equalized Calcavecchia's achievement of nine consecutive birdies.

It was in the second round of a Military Tribute at the Greenbrier on September 13, 2019, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, USA.

The most birdies in a row in a PGA Tour event is 9, but few others have recorded 8 birdies consecutively.

Mark Calcavecchia and Kevin Chappell are the only two golfers in PGA tour history to have made nine birdies in a row during a tour event

Calcavecchia did it in the 2009 RBC Canadian Open while Chappell did it in 2019 in a Military Tribute at The Greenbrier.

Calcavecchia started his 2nd round on the 10th hole. His birdie run began on the par-3 No. 12 hole, continued on holes 13, to 18, then carried over to holes 1 and 2.

The last birdie in his streak was on the par-five 2nd hole. The run ended with a par on the No. three holes.

He finished the competition in a tie for 8th position.

While, Chappell's birdie run of 9 was during what was also the 11th round of 59 in PGA Tour history.

He also started on the back 9, so Chappell's unbeaten run started on No. eleven continued through No. 18, and then another one on No. 1, before ending.

Kevin Streelman holds the record for the most consecutive birdies made at the end of a tournament to win it.

He won the 2014 Travelers Championship with seven consecutive birdies.

Bernd Wiesberger shot nine birdies in a row in the second round of the 2017 Maybank Championship on the European Tour. Beth Daniel and Amy Yang equal the LPGA record for consecutive birdies with nine each.

The decline in birdies in 2023 was most likely caused by various reasons, including the challenging course configuration and windy conditions.

The Masters Tournament is famed for its difficult Augusta National Golf Club course, and the wind made scoring low even more difficult.

However, there were 827 birdies in the 2022 Masters. The most birdies recorded in a single tournament over the last decade were 1,112 in 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the reputable tournament was held in November.

Hence, it clearly shows that the amount of birdies achieved at the Masters Tournament varies yearly, with an average of roughly 800 birdies per tournament during the last decade.
