Oral Roberts baseball coaches are Ryan Folmar, Ryan Neill, Wes Davis, Jimmy Turk and Nolan Fanning. Folmar has been head coach since 2013.
Michigan native Ryan Folmar has been with Oral Roberts University for more than two decades, having first joined as an assistant coach in 2003. After spending nine seasons under Rob Walton, Ryan was promoted to the head coach role in 2013.
Credits to the incredible coaching and support staff, along with the proficient roster of Oral Roberts, they have made it to the 2023 College World Series at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
It is only the second College World Series appearance for the Golden Eagles in the program's history, with the first one coming way back in 1978.
Oral Roberts defeated Oregon Ducks across three games in Eugene Super Regional to secure the Championship berth. Having lost the first game, they made the series level with a nail-biting 8-7 and back it up with a rather convincing win in Game 3.
The Golden Eagles will be desperately hoping to carry on the winning streak this Friday against TCU Horned Frogs in the first game of the CWS.

Ryan Folmar is the Oral Roberts baseball head coach in 2023 with an overall career record of 319-210. He has won the Summit League Coach of the Year six times in 2015-18, 2021 and 2023.
Folmar guided the Golden Eagles baseball team to the 2023 NCAA Regional Championship, a huge accomplishment achieved after 17 years. Oral Roberts had become the regional champion earlier in 1978 and 2006.
Moreover, he is only the fourth head coach in program history to record 300 career wins. Ryan achieved this remarkable feat on 15 April 2022 with a thrilling 6-4 victory over Western Illinois.
Folmar is a former college baseball player at Oklahoma State from 1994-97. Moreover, he also played professionally in the Colorado Rockies organization from 1997 to 1998.
The ORU Athletic Hall of Famer Ryan Neill is in his 17th season on the Golden Eagles coaching staff. He is currently the associate head coach.
Neill specializes in the recruiting coordinator role apart from mentoring the infielders. His work has well paid off as 19 infielders have earned All-Summit League and All-Southland Conference honors during his tenure.
Neill himself is the career home run leader for ORU and set multiple records while playing as a first baseman/outfielder for four seasons from 1997-2000. After impressing in the collegiate career, he was picked by the Detroit Tigers in the 2000 MLB draft.
Assistant Coach Wes Davis joined the Oral Roberts coaching staff prior to the 2009 season and has been with the team to date in various roles.
Prior to being named assistant to Folmar in 2018, Davis carried on the role of pitching mentor for the Golden Eagles. Before that, he spent seven years as the Director of Operations and the first two years as a volunteer assistant.
Jimmy Turk is in his fourth year as the volunteer assistant for the Golden Eagles baseball team. Turk was previously an associate scout for the MLB team Tampa Bay Rays from 2015-2016.
Nolan Fanning is the new recruit for the ORU entering his first season as the Director of Baseball Operations in 2023. His earlier stints include the assistant mentor role at Midland College and NOC-Enid.

Senior captain Jake McMurray has been pivotal to the team's success in the ongoing 2023 NCAA tournament with a batting average of .327.
Likewise, junior Jonah Cox has the highest batting average at .420, followed by Max Lucas at .364, Justin Quinn at .349, and Matt Hogan at .329.
In terms of home runs, Matt Hogan leads the chart with 18 HR with the next best being 13 of Mac McCroskey. All of Jonah Cox, Drew Stahl, and Blaze Brothers have struck 11 each.
Harley Gollert, Brooks Flower, Caleb Isaacs, Jakob Hall and Joshua Caravalho have been the team pitching leaders. Moreover, pitcher Jakob Hall has been a star for the Golden Eagles with 91 strikeouts.
All in all, it has been a complete team performance from the ORU players in their quest to make the 2023 College World Series appearance.
Oral Roberts University Baseball Rules
In case of rain delay, umpires can declare the game suspended to resume at a later date, provided it has not reached the fifth inning. However, an official game is recorded if the 5th inning is completed and the team with the most runs at the time of delay will be declared winner.
There will be normally 9 innings in the College World Series. However, the college baseball game can go to extra innings in case of a tied score and will go on for indefinite innings until the tie is broken.
If any bat does not have a proper bat-testing sticker and has been flattened or altered to enhance performance, then it is called an illegal bat.
The batter shall be called out and removed from the game if an illegal bat is detected before the first pitch. In case of detection after the first pitch, not only the batter will be declared out but the base runners will not be allowed to advance as well.
To maintain game tempo and control time limits between pitches and innings, NCAA has implemented the visible action clock policy. The 20-second rule has been brought into play for pitchers, who have to begin the activity to deliver each pitch within that time limit.
With the new rule in place, umpires can now initiate video reviews to determine whether any sort of misconduct or malicious contact has occurred. Moreover, video replays can also be used for the catcher's interference.
Oral Roberts Baseball CWS Schedule 2023
Oral Roberts is scheduled to play against TCU Horned Frogs at 1:00 p.m. CT on June 16, Friday. It will take place at Charles Schwab Field Omaha.
ESPN network will broadcast the historic match as the Golden Eagles have made it to the College World Series after 45 long years, earlier in 1978.
ORU will have to be wary of the TCU baseball team who has been in terrific nick en route to making their 6th CWS appearance. The Horned Frogs triumphed over Indiana State convincingly in two Games to secure the Championship place.
If the Golden Eagles defeat TSU, then they will face the winner of Virginia vs Florida at 6 p.m. CT on June 18. However, if ORU loses the first game, they will be in for an elimination game against the loser of Virginia vs Florida at 1 p.m. CT on June 18, Sunday.
The Golden Eagles team earlier made a fabulous comeback to become the 2023 Eugene Super Regional champion defeating Oregon Ducks.
Having lost the first game by a 9-8 score, they tied up the series with a hard-fought 8-7 victory in Game 2. With the historic Championship berth on the line, ORU registered a fantastic 11-6 win over Oregon Ducks.
