PGA Championship Venues Next 10 Years

PGA Championship 2023 venue is the East Course of Oak Hill Country Club. It is one of the golf grounds with difficult terrain to navigate for the players. 

American golfer, Hogan explained that the first shot of this 18th-hole course should be taken from an elevated distance which offers high risk and high reward to the players. 

This country Club is located in New York, Pittsford. Notable competitions like Amateur and Senior Opens including the PGA championship took place in this place since the 90s.

Valhalla Golf Club is the PGA championship future venue for 2024. Situated in Louisville, Kentucky is a private club of Jack Nicklaus. Nicklaus started the club in 1986. 

It is a 2 km long course is located outside the interstate highway of Gene Snyder Freeway. It offers a spectacular view with the best geographical terrain for playing golf. 

PGA of the US purchased a 50% stake in the club in 2000. It was also announced that the club was purchased by Jimm Kirchdofer, a businessman related to the piping industry. Popular golfers like Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger Woods have participated in its grounds.

 From 1996 to 2024, a total of seven events have taken place including Ryder Cup (2008). The most played event on the course is the PGA championship. America won the cup in the Ryder tournament in 2008. 

Quail Hollow Club is the PGA championship future site for the 2025 event. Hollow is a Southern country club residing in the Charlotte of NC. 

This club requires private membership for entry. Hollow's inception took place in 1959. The club organized its first official tournament in 1969 (Kemper Open). 

To date, events like the Presidents Cup, PGA Championship, and World Seniors Invitational have taken place in the Southern course. 

Quail also organizes a yearly event of the Wells Fargo Championship from 2003 to the present. It is a popular links golf course, it is only 600 ft above sea level. 

Moreover, the club's former member Arnold Palmer made changes in golf holes for it to become well enough to organize international events. 

Aronimink Golf is the future PGA championship venue of 2026. The Aronimink golf course is located in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. 

According to the voters of Links magazine, it was ranked the fourth toughest PGA tour course. Many golfers like John McDermott are the product of Aronimink. He was the first American to win US Open.

This golf club offers a scenic view and a beautiful design by Donald Ross. Ponds, flora, and beautiful landscapes offer the players tranquility while making different plays. 

Aronimink has a proud history as it was one of the golf clubs to first organize the PGA championship in 1962. Also, multiple events such as AT&T nationals and BMW championship took place in its ground. 

Likewise, Asian golfer Kim Sei-Young from Korea won the Women's PGA Championship in 2020.

PGA Frisco is the future venue of the PGA Championship 2027. Frisco is a planned real estate for the PGA of America's head office.

It is a 2,544-acre land where settlement with office buildings and housing is planned along with two championship golf courses in the 600 acres of land. 

It is a new development planned by Hunt Realty Investments and PGA is likely to cost nearly $13 billion. The golf course shall host 23 events in more than a decade of its operation. 

Similarly, the PGA Championship (2027) and Ryder Cup (2034) shall take place in the field. Besides, the golf, Hunts Real Estate is planning to build ten thousand homes with twelve neighborhoods in the 72 acres. 

It shall also have 500 room hotel, office centers, parks, and trails. This land's rezoning was given a go by the government in 2020. 

The Olympic Club is the PGA championship's future venue in 2028. It is also known as San Francisco Club or San Mateo. Francisco is one of the oldest golfing organizations. 

The 6.3 km long club is rated 73.2 along with a slope rating of 131 by the PGA examiners. 

San Francisco consists of three courses Lake, Ocean, and Cliffs. It is also included in the list of 100 golf clubs in the country for its contributions to international and national tournaments. 

Golfers have explained that among all three courses, the Cliffs course is the most difficult course due to windy weather but it offers scenic beauty to the players and coastal view from the top. 

Major golf tournaments like the US Open, Women's Open, Tour Championship, and Ryder's Cup for nearly half a century. Golfers like Sihwan Kim, Webb Simpson, and fastest golfer Colt Knost participated in this tournament. 

Baltusrol Golf Club, Lower Course is the future tournament location of the PGA Championship 2029. It is a private course situated in Springfield, New Jersey. 

The club's inception took place in 1895, the founder of this club is Louis Keller. This club was also listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. 

The Baltusrol field consists of two courses Upper and Lower course. The upper golf field is recently designed in 2023 by Gil Hanse, he was also responsible for the renovation of the lower course. 

Different major tournaments like the Open, Amateur, Women's Amateur, and PGA tour were hosted on this site. The latest competition of the Women's PGA Championship was won by Yin Ruoning in 2023. 

LIV golf athlete Phil Mickelson also won his 2005 PGA championship on this very ground. 

Southern Hill Country Club is a 27-hole PGA championship venue that resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to Golf's Digest, Southern Hill was ranked #30 on the list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. 

Over a dozen events have already taken place in this course including the first US Women's Amateur competition in 1946. 

People from multiple nationalities of golfers like Zimbabwe, Germany, South Korea, and South Africa have won the tournament organized on its grounds. 

The latest event organized in this 2.75 km ground is the PGA Championship 2022 won by Justin Thomas from the US. 

Looking back, Waite Phillips a multi-millionaire donated the land to build a country club which was designed by Perry Maxwell. He planned an 18-hole course also Crenshaw added a 9-hole in the west course during renovation in 1992. 

Congressional Country Club shall host the PGA championship taking place in 2031. It is a private club located in Bethesda, Maryland.

It is one of the most distinguished clubs in the world with sophisticated design and the participation of exceptional talents like Rory, Woods, Venturi, and British Golfer Justin Rose. Tiger Woods also hosted the Quicken Loans National tournament in 2020 in the same venue. 

There are two courses in this golf resort which include the Blue course which is around 6.9 km and the Gold course 6.25 km. Gold has a par of 71 due to its shorter length. 

Furthermore, it is known to be a prestigious club due to its former members such as Charlie Chaplin, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John D. Rockefeller, John Glenn, Gerald Ford, and many more. 

Pebble Beach Golf Links is a 2034 future PGA location that shall host the US Open. The 18-hole club has already hosted two US Opens excluding the Women's Open.

Since to 1929 to 2023, 18 major events have taken place in the Links. It is one of the best public golf courses that has hosted such prestigious events. 

Moreover, At &T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is a regular event that have taken place in the links. Top golfers like Gary Woodland, Tiger Woods, Tom Watson, and a golfer from Oklahoma Viktor Hovland have participated in the major Beach's major events.
