Pittsburgh Pirates Minor League teams are Indianapolis Indians, Altoona Curve, Greensboro Grasshoppers, Bradenton Marauders, FCL Pirates and DSL Pirates.
Minor League Baseball (MiLB) has seven teams that are affiliated with the MLB side. Each Class has one affiliated team. There are currently four classes in the minor league system with Triple-A or AAA Class being the highest level in the MiLB.
Double-A which is also known as Class AA ranked second. It is followed by High-A, and Single-A. In easy words, the Classes in Minor League Baseball are the levels of play. The system also has a Rookie-level which is the lowest level and has two leagues which are also known as "complex leagues".
The levels of play also consist of the International Rookie or Foreign Rookie level, i.e. Dominican Summer League. In the DSL, the Pittsburgh Pirates has two affiliated teams, DSL Pirates Gold and DSL Pirates Black.

Indianapolis Indians
Indianapolis Indians are Pittsburgh Pirates AAA team in Minor League Baseball. They have been affiliated with the Pirates since 2005.
The franchise was founded in 1902 and is based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. In American professional baseball, Indianapolis is the second-oldest team minor league team.
Looking back at their history, they were first part of the American League (AA) in 1902. The following year, they were granted Class A status through 1911. They were then in the Double-A class from 1912-1945.
Pittsburgh Pirates Triple A team Indianapolis Indians have been part of the class since 1946. They are currently members of the International League (IL).
In the franchise's long and successful history, the Indians have won 14 league titles. They have 12 AA titles (1902, 1908, 1917, 1928, 1949, 1956, 1982, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1994) and 2 IL titles in 1963 and 2000.
The Indians have been affiliated with quite a number of MLB franchises in the past. They started their affiliation with the Cincinnati Reds from 1939-1941. They have also been affiliated with the Pirates back in 1948-1951.
The franchise has also won 7 Class titles and 13 Division Titles in its history. They have 34 titles in total including their league titles. Although they have won in the past, their recent run has surely not been up to the standards.
Their best finish has been 5th in the league in the last five seasons and have not won a Division title since 2017. They finished 10th in 2022 and 4th in their division. The Indians are currently 8th in the West Division with a three-match losing streak.
Altoona Curve
Pittsburgh Minor League teams in the Double-A Class are the Altoona Curve. They have been in the Class since 1999 and are a team in the Eastern League.
The Curve are a relatively new team since they were founded in 1998. The team is based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and has been affiliated with the Pirates since 1999.
In the franchise's short history, they have won 4 Division titles in 2004, 2010, 2017, and 2018. They also have two League titles in 2010, and 2017.
They also have had the knack of producing some of the best pitchers since they recorded two no-hitters in 2002 and 2013. On both occasions, it was a combined no-hitter as several pitchers were used.
The Curve play their games in Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona itself and are currently placed 4th in the Southwest Division with a 48-51 record.
Greensboro Grasshoppers
Greensboro Grasshoppers are the Pittsburgh Pirates' High-A affiliate in the MiLB. The Grasshoppers are members of the South Atlantic League and part of the North Division.
The franchise was founded in 1979 and the team is located in Greensboro, North Carolina. First National Bank Field is the home field for the Grasshoppers since 2005.
Although they were established in 1979, Greensboro has had teams in professional baseball since early 1900. The Greensboro Farmers were the first team in 1902 and have since had many teams that have participated in different leagues.
The team has also been affiliated with several MLB teams throughout its history, beginning with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1932 and currently being affiliated with the Pirates since 2019.
They have been stable since 1979 and have not made any changes either to the team or the league. The Grasshoppers have 8 Division titles in 1980-1982, 1985, 1993, 1997, 2011-2012, and 4 League titles in 1980-1982 and 2011.
The Grasshoppers' alumni also have quite a number of active players in the MLB such as Yankees pitcher Domingo German. He pitched the most recent perfect game in MLB.
In the North Division, the Grasshoppers are currently placed 3rd with a 53-47 record and 3.5 Games Behind (GB) the division leaders.
Bradenton Marauders
The Single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates is the Bradenton Marauders. They are members of the Florida State League (FSL) and the team is based in Bradenton, Florida.
Established in 2010, the Marauders are part of the West Division of the FSL and have been affiliated with the Pirates since its establishment. LECOM Park is their home field where the Pirates conduct their preseason games and practices.
The team was previously part of the Class-A Advanced or the High-A Class till 2020. They were part of Single-A or Low-A in 2021 and won their second League title having won their first in 2016. They have 1 Division title in 2016 and three Second-half titles in 2010, 2011, and 2014.
The Marauders are 2 games behind the leaders in the division in the second half. They finished second in the first half as well and have an overall record of 59-43 in 2023.
FCL Pirates
Pittsburgh Minor League teams at the Rookie-level are the Florida Complex League Pirates (FCL Pirates). They are members of the Florida Complex League (FCL)
The Pirates were formerly known as the Gulf Coast League Pirates since its establishment in 1968 and used the name till 2020. The reason they were the GCL Pirates was because the FCL was previously known as the Gulf Coast League (GCL) from 1966-2020.
The Pirates have not been affiliated with any other MLB franchises. They have won 4 Division titles in 2002, 2003, 2008, and 2013 along with a League title which they won in 2012.
The FCL Pirates are division leaders with a 28-17 record and are 3.5 games ahead of the second-placed team. They are also the league leaders and are 1 game ahead of the FCL Mets.
DSL Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates' International Rookie affiliates are the Dominican Summer Pirates. The team competes in the Dominican Summer League (DSL) and hence is known as the DSL Pirates.
The Pirates was founded in 1990 and are members of the DSL San Pedro Division. The team is based in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, and has been affiliated with the Pittsburgh Pirates since they were established.
The DSL is classed as a Class Foreign Rookie League and the league was started in 1985. The DSL Pirates have won 3 League titles in 1990, 2003, and 2012 along with 4 Division titles in 2003, 2006, 2007, and 2012.
DSL Pirates Gold are the division leaders with a 30-12 record and the DSL Pirates Black are placed 7th with a 15-26 record.
