Richard Jefferson mom Meekness LeCato is a professor at Maricopa Community College. Richard grew up with his brothers Chris and Lovell Henderson.
The former Houston Rockets forward has always taken Meekness as his inspiration, driving him to the world of success. Jefferson even got his height attributes from his parents, who were 5 feet 11 and 6 feet 2 inches tall.

Meekness LeCato
Meekness LeCato was formerly Wanda Marshall, a single mother with three young children living on welfare in Los Angeles.
As a devout Christian, she attributes her change in fortune to her belief in Proverbs 18:21, which states, "Demise and life are in the power of the tongue."
In 1986, she relocated to Phoenix for its lower cost of living. She began practicing positive confession, a common practice in some sectors of charismatic Christianity, where individuals speak positively about things they wish to happen in their lives.
As part of her transformation, she changed her name to Meekness after being called by that name at a revival meeting led by a preacher.
Moreover, after separating from Richard's father, LeCato married her childhood friend in Philadelphia, John LeCato, in 1985. They remained married for 34 years until John's ultimate demise in August 2019.
Despite dropping out of high school, LeCato has achieved great success in academia and is served as a member of the English department faculty at South Mountain Community College in Phoenix.

In addition, she earned a doctorate in 2004. In addition to her academic endeavors and church-related duties with her husband, LeCato has dedicated much of her time to missionary work in Africa.
She has traveled to Africa for thirteen consecutive summers as a missionary, sometimes solo and sometimes with her husband.
Richard Allen Jefferson Sr.
Richard's dad, Richard Allen Jefferson Sr. lived in Inglewood before a tragic incident took his life. The then 65-year-old was gunned on September 19, 2018, in the 600 block of West Peach Street in Compton, per LA Times.
The incident occurred after driving to the P&G Market in Compton, where he parked near the store.
Richard Jefferson Siblings
Jefferson has two brothers named Chris Henderson and Lovell Henderson. Chris is the firstborn of three siblings.
There are pictures of him shared by Meekness on her social media page, wishing him on his birthday.
Although not much is known about his professional career, Chris is currently married with kids. He is often spotted in Meekness' Facebook posts during family gatherings and events with his brothers.
