Golfer Rose Zhang Parents Haibin Zhang and Li Cai

Rose Zhang was born to mom Li Cai and dad Haibin Zhang. Rose grew up with her brother Bill Zhang in Arcadia, California.

However, Haibin and Li relocated to the well-urbanized city of Irvine in California when Rose was just a little girl. Thus, despite being born in Arcadia, the amateur golfer spent most of her formative years in Irvine.

Haibin inspired her to play golf when she was nine years old. Upon receiving a set of golf clubs from a friend, he exposed Rose to the sport from a young age.

Besides, Li and Haibin also known as Henry has motivated their young athletic child to attend her games and provide her with all the support she needs from her guardian.

Her mother and father accompanied her to Stanford in November 2020 as Rose agreed to sign with Stanford University. 

Additionally, Haibin has always had high expectations for Rose and he has sacrificed much of his time and effort to help her pursue her dreams. His influence has also helped Rose become a tough competitor.

Rose credits her old man with helping her to develop a grit mindset, which has been crucial to her success on the golf course.

Moreover, the World's no. 1 golfer pointed out that Haibin has been monumental in helping her grow both as an athlete and a person. Being her caddie and staying by her side, he is crucial in helping her maintain her mental focus and stay calm under pressure.

Haibin Works At PIMCO

Haibin Zhang is a Senior Vice President of Quantitative Research Analyst at PIMCO. He has been a part of the investment management firm since November 2010.

Haibin first came as a VP of Asset Analyst, and after working for three years, he was promoted to the SVP in January 2014.

Before his stint at PIMCO, Mr. Zhang was an assistant VP at Barclays Capital for two years. He also joined Lehman Brothers as an associate in July 2007.

Moreover, Haibin also worked as a Financial Software Developer at Bloomberg for a year. 

After graduating from Pujiang Middle School, he attended the University of Science and Technology of China in 1994 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Physics in 1999.

Later, Haibin went to Yale University to attain a doctorate in Physics and gained his Ph.D. in 2004.

Rose Zhang grew up with a sibling in the household. Her elder brother Bill Sida Zhang was born a decade earlier in 1993. 

Growing up in Irvine, Rose Zhang's elder brother Bill, who was ten years older than Rose, played a crucial role in her upbringing, acting as a millennial father and caregiver while their parents were at work.

She has maintained a warm relationship with him even today, and the two often hang out during her off-season. 

Bill is a professional executive consultant, currently working as a Mortgage Banker at Trusted Mortgage Capital. He freshly joined the entity in February 2023.

Before that, Bill Sida toiled as a business consultant at Aurelia & B Corp for over five years. Similarly, he also spent a year at Network Capital, followed by a year-and-a-half stint at New American Funding as a Senior Loan Consultant. 

Besides earning a bachelor's degree in Marketing from California State University, Bill has also obtained a Real Estate Broker and insurance consultant license, demonstrating his versatility and competence across multiple fields.

As a result of which, he landed a job at McSen Realty Corporation as a Land Development Manager in May 2018.

Bill recently became a father to a daughter. Besides, he has kept his Instagram account private. 

Zhang's love for golf was sown in her childhood manifesting her natural inclination and fervor for the sport at nine. 

At 13, Rose won her first career trophy as an amateur in the 2016 AJGA - CJGT at Yorba Linda. Zhang continued to soar to greater heights in the following years, culminating in triumphant victories at the Junior PGA Championship and Junior America's Cup in 2017.

Buoyed by her impressive skills and grit at 16, she partook in US Women's Open in May 2019. She attended Pacific Academy in Irvine, California, where she demonstrated her talent and dedication to the game.

Throughout high school, she won numerous awards, including the McCormack Medal, and was also named the Rolex Junior Player of the Year twice,

Zhang joined Lydia Ko and Leona Maguire as the only golfers to receive the McCormack Medal multiple times. Additionally, Zhang represented Team USA in the Junior Solheim Cup and Pan-American Games in 2019.

She finished third in the 2021 Augusta National Women's Amateur and made the cut for four LPGA major championships in 2021.

Her impressive golfing resume also includes winning the 2020 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, making her the eighth player in history to win both the U.S. Junior and U.S. Amateur titles.

She also set a new record as the first player to win the Amateur before the Junior. In late 2020, Zhang signed up for Stanford University, and with her awe-inspiring win at the 2022 NCAA Championship, she left an indelible impression on the college.
