Tommy Edman Parents Maureen Kwak and John Edman

Tommy Edman was born in Pontiac, Michigan, and raised in San Diego, California. He currently resides in San Diego with his wife.

Edman attended La Jolla Country Day School in San Diego and graduated in 2013. He walked away as a part of an All-Academic Team.

He played college baseball for the Stanford Cardinals at Stanford University. Tommy transferred to Newport Gulls in the New England Collegiate League after his freshman year with the Cardinal.

The future MLB player again shifted to Yarmouth–Dennis Red Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League after his sophomore year. He was soon drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals at the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

Hence, he moves around St.Louis and San Diego to balance his home life and career.

Tommy Edman Father

Tommy Edman's dad John Edman is an American who went to Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood. He had set several records at the Boys and Girls Club in Bay View.

He played baseball at Williams College in Massachusetts while obtaining a major in Economics till 1993. Edman started his career as an Economics teacher at Cranbrook Schools right after graduating in 1993 till 1997.

John was a part-time assistant baseball coach at the University of Michigan from 1997 to 1999. He later joined La Jolla Country Day School as a full-time head baseball coach in 1999.

Tommy played under his guidance for three years before heading out for Standford. John has been intact in his position as the Mathematics teacher in the school beside his head coach job, per his LinkedIn.

Likewise, he and a local coach Mike Loper ran the Northern Michigan Baseball Camp for several years before moving on.

The Edman father-son duo are huge fans of sports, especially baseball. Hence, John makes sure not to miss any of Tommy's games.

Tommy Edman will represent his mother Kwak's Korean ethnicity at the 2023 World Baseball Classic. He decided on the conclusion after the South Korean national team called him in.

Edman will be ready to face his St Louis teammate Adam Wainwright this week.

John and Maureen graduated together and got married afterward. While her husband is an expert in numbers, she chose the medical field.

Mrs. Edman currently works at Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. Moreover, she refrains from calling herself a crazy baseball mom since she is also focused on her career.

Maureen was a child when she moved to the U.S., making her accustomed to the American lifestyle. She goes by her married name after she married into the athletic Edman family.

Tommy's great-grandfather, Chuck Bailey, lived in Petoskey and played football, basketball, and baseball. He ran Bailey's Soda Fountain and Newsstand in the Flat Iron Deli building.

Bailey's daughter Betty, Tommy's grandmother, played golf and tennis tournaments at Bay View Country Club. She was one of the notable women to open up athletic opportunities for women.

Betty's husband Jack, Tommy's grandfather, set a record in the 220-yard dash at Class A Oxford south of Flint in the 1940s. The record was broken in 1998.

However, Jack focused on his corporate career until he became the chairman of GMAC in 1987.

Tommy Edman has two siblings, Johnny and Elise. Johnny is the eldest child of the family, Tommy is the middle child, and Elise is the youngest.

John Edman Jr., aka Johnny, was named after his dad. He is an avid baseball fan and misses no chance to attend his brother's game.

He currently works as a data engineer in the research and development for the Minnesota Twins. He is married to Emily Edman, and the two are devout Christians.

Likewise, the youngest member of the clan, Elise played as a defensive specialist or Libero for the Davidson Wildcats women's volleyball team of Davidson College.

Elise's LinkedIn confirms that she graduated from Davidson with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2020. She worked as a Systems Engineer for the St.Louis Cardinals from May 2020 to January 2022. 

She has been volunteering for the Parents' Scrapbooking Event at Rady Children's Hospital alongside her mom. Ms. Edman also has an experince as a data research analyst with SensorRx from October 2018 to May 2019. 

The initiative was a cooperation between Davidson and SensorRx to determine the cause of migraines. She wedded Patrick Noble Casey in December 2021 while they had legally married in July 2020.

Tommy Edman wife Kristen Edman married on December 23, 2019. Their wedding ceremony was in Poway, California.

They had decided to tie the knot on October 5 of that year, but postseason baseball made them change the date. The two had been dating for a long time before the eventual marriage.

Eddie had confirmed his relationship with Kristen through a January 2017 Instagram post where they had gone to Sann Diego Zoo.

Tristen often visited her boyfriend during his practices and games, strengthening their love life to an eventual marriage.

Tristen Shiotani hails from a mixed Asian and Mexican heritage. She was born to her father, Toshi, and mother, Terry Shiotani.

She has one younger brother, Toshi Jr., and two elder sisters, Kassy and Kimber. Kassy played softball at Harvard University.

All the Siotano siblings grew up in Poway, California, while Tristen graduated from Powey High School in 2012. She played softball for the Concordia University Irvine Golden Eagles.

Meanwhile, she majored in Exercise Sport Science. She now works as a real estate agent and travels between San Diego and St. Louis.
