Nancy Lundquist is relishing a happy wed life with Verne since 1982. Nancy and Verne first met each other at a bar in Dallas in 1980.
Nancy was a part of the first volunteer guild for the String Music Festival. Since the first String concert, the couple has given their time and funds to several local nonprofits and organizations.
Verne stated that Nancy is the kindest person he has ever known and has been by his side in every situation. They both attended the first two SEC games in 2018 at Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Georgia-Forida in Jacksonville.
Nancy and Verne received the Yampa Valley Community Foundation's Philanthropist of the Year award in 2012.
After receiving the award, Nancy told the leaders of several local NGOs that it had been simple for her and Verne to donate so much time and money to deserving projects in the Yampa Valley.

Verne and Patricia were together for four years. However, the relationship between them didn't go well and they finalize their divorce on July 23, 1971.
Following his divorce from Patricia in 1971, the American sportscaster tied the knot with Kathy Vernon on March 10, 1972.
Verne and Kathy lived happily together for eight years. However, his second marriage also did not last long as he parted ways with Kathy on November 26, 1980.
Lunquist aka The Golden Throat has no children from his first two marriages with Patricia and Vernon.

Verne was born on July 17, 1940 in Duluth, Minnesota. He grew up playing basketball during his childhood in his hometown.
Lundquist's parents said their wedding vows in 1939. His dad was from Kansas while his mom was from Clarkfield.
Verne Lundquist father Metron Laverne Lundquist Sr. was a Lutheran minister and the head of the Augustana Lutheran Church's Nebraska Synod.
In 1962, he attended Augustana Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois, following in his father's footsteps. Before enrolling in Augustana Seminary in Rock Island, Lundquist graduated from Texas Lutheran in sociology in 1962.
He worked as a DJ for WOC in Davenport, Iowa, which is across the Mississippi River. Before finding a television sports job on Labor Day 1963, Lundquist returned to Austin and worked as a disc jockey over the summer.
