Auburn Golfers On PGA Tour 2023

Lee Williams was part of the Auburn golf team before joining PGA. Lee is one of the gifted players who stated that he works really hard which often translates into his game. 

Williams is a 41-year-old golfer, who has played in multiple tours including the PGA tour and the web.com tour. However, before accomplishing his career wins he spent a fair amount of time becoming the amateur champion. 

Lee holds four amateur wins in the Southern amateur tournament, Druid Hills amateur competition, and Greystone invitational. He also shares the team spirit of the USA after representing his country in the Walker Cup in '03 and again in '05. 

Mexico Open is his first marvelous win also he has also bagged two wins on US Pro Golf Tour as well.

Will Claxton resides in Alabama he previously played for the Auburn golf team, and he is a graduate class of 2005 from the same university. 

Claxton has amassed career earnings of over $1 million. Before participating in the PGA competition. He made remarkable achievements in the SEC tournament in the 2002-03 season. 

After receiving his PGA card, he participated in Hooters, Professional, and Nationwide tours. Despite going pro, he was not able to rank higher in the major tournaments and often faced cuts.

Claxton's highest tournament ranking is T-5 in the Sanderson Farm. Also, his best in major tournaments like Fed Ex Cup is 89th ranking in 2012. 

After his negligible performance, Will has not participated in major tournaments or facing issues to be selected in invitational due to his global rankings. 

Blayne Barber is an Auburn golfer who holds the record for lowest strokes in his collegiate career which is 70.83. Barber was distinguished as an SEC honoree and winner of the Florida State Amateur.

Barber had a promising golfing career, he won his first match in 2014 at the Web. com or of South Georgia Classic. The golfer's victory margin was two strokes against Washington uni's player Alex Prugh. 

While joining the national team, he participated in one of the biggest amateur events which were the Palmer Cup and Walker Cup. 

In his college years, he was the seventh amateur-ranked golfer in the country. Definitely, he had a higher win percentage in college than turning pro. 

Blayne went on to the semi-finals and regional finals of Ben Hogan and the NCAA championship. He led his team to Division One in the 1st team all-American tournament as well

Jovan Rebula is an Auburn men's golfer who won the Amateur Championship. Rebula took over the role of captainship for his nation (South Africa) while competing in the Eisenhower Trophy. 

After graduating from college, he turned pro and participated in multiple tournaments including US Open. It has only been two years since he turned pro.

Moreover, he has yet to win any major trophies and has recently faced cuts in the competition due to his ranking issues.

He has significant achievements in the amateur competition which shall translate into his professional career in the upcoming period. 

At present, he is ranked 1087 in global rankings and has played in thirty-four events. 

The 26-year-old player holds significant hopes for the nation. He is supported by multiple companies such as Titleist, Dunning Golf, and Proitup Golf throughout his professional journey. 

Iain Steel is a Malaysian golfer and graduate student of Auburn University. This Asian golfer boasts six professional wins including a Nike Tour win in '97. 

Steel is a PGA golfer who is currently on the Asian Tour. He lives in Alabama but represents Malaysia in international events. He turned pro quite early after joining Auburn. 

Steel opened the doors for other Malaysians to participate in the Open Championship after he became the first individual from his nation to do so in 1996. 

In the course of his career, he was not successful to win any major titles. The 52-year-old golfer has not participated in European events since the 2010s. 

Steel suffered a disastrous back injury on Asian Tour in 2011, he was never the same after his back problem. Nonetheless, he holds the record of winning twice in the Aian tour and placing third in the 2013 event. 

Ricky Smallridge is an Alabama native who is a golfer from Auburn University. In his short amateur stint, he holds records of winning four events. 

After turning pro, he took part in multiple small tours like Ben Hogan. Ricky won the event twice and also won the state Open in '89 and '91. 

Smallridge has taken over the position of contract instructor at his university. He teaches golf at the Auburn Hill course and trains them in physical activity and wellness. 

Ricky was not able to participate in the major championship, but he does seem to be a well-endowed individual in golf thus he is training the talents of Auburn for division one competitions. 

Jimmy Green is a professional golfer from Auburn College. The 53-year-old golfer had played for PGA and National tours. In his amateur career, he won the SE Conference championship in '91. 

On the other hand, he was successful in registering only a professional win at Nike Buffalo Open against Jeff Gove in the playoff in 1996. He did have an opportunity to play in the Masters and PGA championships. 

He did not play in those events. Likewise, he was successful in placing 57th in the US Open of 2000 but after ranking at the bottom, he did not pay much attention to the major tours. 

Additionally, he has not competed in the professional tour for over a decade. Green along with Smallridge are part of the administrative staff of Auburn. 

Buddy Gardner is an Auburn golfer from the 70s. He participated in all major tournaments but failed to have any major wins in his career. 

Gardner holds an outstanding achievement in the PGA championship tour in '85, he was placed sixth in the tournament. Also, he came 37th in the US tournament in 1991. 

Besides his professional debut, he holds three wins in his amateur career including consecutive wins in '74 and 75 in his home state competition. 

Similarly, a year before turning pro, he won the Dixie Amateur which is one of the prized tournaments for young players. He also played against Brad Fabel and won with one stroke victory. 

Gardner came quite close to winning the PGA tour, he lost in the playoff against Bobby Walzel and Jay Haas in the '79 and '87 respectively. 

One of the proud graduates of Auburn is Jason Dufner. He is a champion golfer who won the PGA Championship and five other PGA tours. 

Despite not receiving any athletic scholarship, he brought three wins for his college team in amateur tournaments. Similarly, the Links golfer also reached finals in the Amateur competition. 

Dufner's latest win is a Nicklaus Memorial tournament win in 2018. This year he was cut from the Wyndham championship where the winner was L. Glover. 

Jason has a good record on the Nationwide tour and has placed within the top ten of OWGR. He has also played with the likes of Justin Rose, Furyk, and Ernie Els.

Patton Kizzire is a male golfer from Auburn University. He is a winner of the SEC championship and third ranker in the 2003 US Junior Open. 

Kizzire turned pro in '08 before and is currently touring with PGA. Patton grew up in the West, he is also a graduate of Auburn with a business degree. 

The 37-year-old golfer is considered one of the most diligent and consistent players. He has participated in all major tournaments and has won two PGA tours with his iconic driver in his career as well. 

Patton is a persevering athlete, who qualified for round 16 in the 2016, World Golf championship.
