Joel Embiid has a son named Arthur Embiid with his lover Anne. Arthur celebrated his second birthday in September 2022.

Embiid's child was born Arthur Elijah De Paula Embiid on Thursday, 17 September 2020, in Philadelphia. Amid the Coronavirus pandemic in the fall of 2020, Anne gave birth to their first offspring without significant medical complications. 

After the arrival of his son Arthur, the 76ers player conveyed his appreciation for the blessing of having a child on his socials. Joel jokingly mentions his desire to have a large family and build a soccer team but acknowledges that it's ultimately up to his partner to decide.

Moreover, He talked about how excited he is about the future and feels that his life now has a new purpose following his entry into parenthood. 

Joel revealed that he named his progeny after his late brother Arthur to honor him, who met an untimely demise in 2014 in an automobile accident.

The Cameroonian athlete is known for keeping his son, Arthur, out of the public eye to avoid media attention. However, in December 2022, he was seen holding his little boy after an impressive performance where he scored 53 points against the Charlotte Hornets.

In a wholesome moment, Arthur can be seen enjoying the attention as he grabs the basketball with a grin of happiness. Later Joel's children attended a post-match press conference with him.

Joel baby mama Anne de Paula is a Brazilian supermodel from Rio de Janeiro. Anne was crown the 2014 Miss Grand International Brazil.

 Joel Embiid was born to parents Thomas Embiid and Christine Embiid. He spent his childhood in his hometown of Yaounde, Cameroon with two siblings.

Though his bloodline has no notable athletic past, the former Kansas Jayhawks star had developed a passion for sports from his childhood playing soccer and volleyball in the alley.

Before embarking on a basketball career at 15, his primary ambition was to become a professional volleyball player. However, he switched to playing basketball and, with the help of Luc Mbah-a Moute, moved to the United States in 2010.

His dad Thomas is a retired military colonel who served his nation for over 30 years. He also had a brief stint as a handball and basketball player, but he never played it professionally but instead as a recreation.

Meanwhile, his mother, Christine played local-level volleyball during her school days, and she is a highly educated individual, which is one of the reasons, she initially wanted Joel to study medicine.

Thomas and Christine, who still reside in Cameroon, occasionally visit the US to attend Joel's game. 

Meet The Embiid Siblings

Joel has two siblings, a brother named Arthur Embiid and a sister named Muriel Embiid. He is the eldest of the three, while Muriel is the youngest.

The six-time NBA All-Star migrated to the US with his sister Muriel in 2010. He attended Montverde Academy in Florida and joined the University of Kansas in 2013.

In 2014, Embiid joined the Philadelphia 76ers and played his first season in NBA. Around the same time, Muriel also started her volleyball journey and got enrolled at Rochester University, NBC Sports reported.

On October 16, 2014, Joel's little brother Arthur passed away in a horrific car accident in Cameroon. Joel and Muriel were in America then and flew home immediately after hearing the news of his demise.
