The 2023 Genesis Scottish Open co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour is all set to begin on July 13 at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.

Paul Lawrie - 54 Years Old
Paul Lawrie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland. Embarking on a journey filled with golf dreams, Lawrie turned pro in 1986 at the age of 17.
The 5 feet 11 inches linksman has registered 19 professional wins with 8 of them coming at the European Tour and one at the coveted PGA Tour.
His significant achievement came in 1999 when he won the Open Championship triumphing over Justin Leonard and Jean van de Velde. Paul also set a record for the biggest final-round comeback en route to lifting the title.
He was the vice-captain of the European Ryder Cup in 2016 as well. Lawrie has now retired from the European Tour and currently competes on the European Senior Tour.
Sandy Lyle - 65 Years Old
MBE Sandy Lyle is widely regarded as one of the best Scottish golfers ever. Sandy was inducted into the World Gold Hall of Fame in 2012 May.
Since turning pro in 1977, Lyle has accumulated 30 wins across various Tours. 6 of them came on the PGA Tour, while 18 were on European Tour.
The two major championship wins for Sandy came at the 1985 Open Championship and the 1988 Masters Tournament. Moreover, he achieved a career-high ranking of 2 on April 10, 1988.
Other four victories in the PGA arena came at the Greater Greensboro Open in 1986, Tournament Players Championship in 1987, Phoenix Open in 1988 and KMart Greater Greensboro Open in 1988.
Since turning 50 years old in 2008, he has been playing on the Champions Tour and the European Senior Tour. Sandy defeated Peter Fowler by 3 strokes en route to winning the ISPS Handa Senior World Championship in 2011.
Catriona Matthew - 53 Years Old
Catriona Matthew was born in Edinburgh and grew up in North Berwick. She has been playing on the LPGA Tour since turning pro in 1995.
Matthew showed early signs of her golf skills winning the Scottish Amateur title in 1991, 1993, and 1994, and the British Amateur title in 1993.
Catriona has registered 11 professional wins to date, with 4 of them coming at the LPGA Tour, and 6 at the Ladies European Tour. Her only major championship triumph was at the Women's British Open in 2009.
Her first win at the LPGA Tour came at the Cup Noodles Hawaiian Ladies Open on February 17, 2001. Matthew also won Wendy's Championship for Children in 2004 and Lorena Ochoa Invitational in 2011.
Colin Montgomerie - 60 Years Old
Colin Montgomerie is talked with great respect when it comes to the golfers from Scotland. He has won eight European Tour Order of Merit titles.
Montgomerie turned pro in 1987 and achieved his career-high second ranking on 17 March 1996. He has registered 54 wins so far, and 31 on the European Tour alone.
Although Colin finished as the runner-up four times in the major championships, he sadly could not lift any major title. He finished 2nd/T2 at the PGA Championship in 1995, the Open Championship in 2005, and thrice in the US Open in 1994, 1997, and 2006.
In recognition of his contributions to golf backed by an illustrious career, Montgomerie was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2013.
Robert MacIntyre - 26 Years Old
Robert MacIntyre graduated from McNeese State University and turned pro in 2017. He represented Scotland in the 2016 Eisenhower Trophy.
MacIntyre won the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year award in 2019. Moreover, he has registered two wins on the European Tour to date.
After clinching Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Showdown in 2020, Robert defeated Matt Fitzpatrick to win the DS Automobiles Italian Open title in 2022.
His best finish at the major championship to date is T6 at the Open Championship in 2019 and T12 at the Masters Tournament the same year.
Robert MacIntyre will be playing in the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. The tournament has a total purse of $9,000,000.
Sam Torrance - 69 Years Old
Veteran golfer Samuel Robert Torrance turned pro at the age of 17. He was part of the iconic Scotland team that won the 1995 Dunhill Cup.
Growing up in an athletic background where his father Bob was a highly esteemed golf instructor, Samuel also followed in his footsteps. He was coached by Bob from a very early age, which later turned out to be the foundation for his 46 career wins.
Torrance is tied at the 10th position for the most wins (21) at the European Tour. Meanwhile, the Scot legend also triumphed once in the PGA Tour of Australasia and 11 times in the European Senior Tour.
Apart from all the individual accolades and titles, Torrance was also known for his daring playing style of long driving and accurate short iron play.
David Law - 32 Years Old
Aberdeen-born golfer David Law primarily plays on the European Tour. Law made a cut to the 2022 Open Championship and finished at T72.
Before turning pro in 2009, David clinched the Scottish Boys Amateur Championship and Scottish Amateur title in 2009. Two years later, he went on to win the Scottish Amateur again in 2011.
Law has registered seven professional wins to date, with the first coming at the Open Dar Es Salam in 2012. He defeated Brad Kennedy and Wade Ormsby by one stroke to win his first-ever European title, ISPS Handa Vic Open in 2019.
Apart from the European Tour, David also played in the Challenge Tour, Pro Golf Tour, and MENA Tour. With the range of skills he has got, he will be desperate to make a major impact in the PGA arena as well in the coming days.
Steven O'Hara - 42 Years Old
The 6 feet 6 inches tall golfer Steven O'Hara was born in Bellshill and currently resides in Motherwell, Scotland. O'Hara turned pro in 2001.
Steven was interested in golf from his childhood days and started playing at the early age of 7 at the Calderbraes Golf Club in South Lanarkshire.
He relished a successful amateur career winning the Scottish Amateur in 2000 and the St Andrews Links Trophy in 2001. Although O'Hara could not register any major wins at the professional level, he made a cut at the 2012 Open Championship.
Ewen Ferguson - 27 Years
Ewn Ferguson is one of the prominent Scottish pro golfers currently. He is all set to make his impact on the upcoming Scottish Open tournament.
Ewbo turned pro in August 2016 and competed full-time on the Challenge Tour in 2018 and 2019. He currently competes on the European Tour.
Ferguson made a bright start to his career winning the Boys Amateur Championship in 2013, the Scottish Boys Championship in 2014, and the Scottish Champion of Champions in 2015.
The year 2022 turned out to be fruitful for Ewn, as he managed to register two professional wins on the European Tour. His first career title came at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters and later followed with a triumph in ISPS Handa World Invitational.
Russell Knox - 38 Years
PGA golfer Russell Knox ranks in the list of top Scottish golfers 2023. He has registered seven wins across various Tours since turning pro in 2007.
Knox won twice in the PGA Tour and European Tour each, and once in the Korn Ferry Tour. He defeated Kevin Kisner by a margin of two strokes to clinch the WGC-HSBC Champions title in 2015.
His second win at the PGA Tour came at the Travelers Championship in 2016. Furthermore, he also won the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open in 2018.
Although Russel is yet to win any major championship event, he finished T12 at the 2018 US Open and T22 at the 2016 PGA Championship.
Knox is currently competing at the Barbasol Championship tournament taking place at the Champion Trace course at Keene Trace Golf Club.
