Wake Forest Baseball Schedule
Wake Forest schedule is on Thursday, June 22, will give the Deacons a last-gasp chance to reach the MCWS Finals 2023. WIN! against LSU and advance.
In the First Round, the Deacons beat Stanford 3-2 and met with the LSU Tigers, eventually reaching the Semifinals.
Wake Forest was responsible for placing the LSU in the loser's bracket after defeating them 3-2 on June 19, 2023. They fell behind yesterday after a 2-5 defeat in the Semifinals.
The upcoming match will be very crucial and without any margin of error.
The No. 1 National Seed must give everything to appear for the 2023 Men's College World Series (MCWS). The Deacons' journey this season has already seen them as Division Champions (Atlantic).
If Wake Forest wins the game on Thursday, they face the Florida Gators (University of Florida) in the MCWS Finals.
If the Deacons win the upcoming game and reach the Finals, it will be a best-of-three format. Two wins will guarantee the championship win.

Wake Forest Baseball Coaching Staff
Wake Forest coaching staff is led by head coach Tom Walter. This is his 14th season as head coach, and won the ACC Coach of the Year (2023).
Tom Walter has immense experience as a coach, as he previously coached George College Revolutionaries (1997-2004) and New Orleans Privateers (2005-2009).
The coaching staff also has the following members:
- Bill Cilento - Associate Head Coach
- Corey Muscara - Assistant Coach
- Matt Wessinger - Volunteer Assistant Coach
- Will Craig - Student Assistant Coach
Bill Cilento was promoted to Associate Head Coach in 2019 and is primarily involved with the hitters and infielders in the team. He will plan to neutralize to stop him from breaking the single-season strikeout record.
He has contributed to 65 college athletes who have gone on to play professional baseball and is also a persistent recruiter for the Deacons.
Corey is relatively new to the Deacons' baseball program, having been added to the staff list in 2021, and is involved with the team's pitchers.
Matt is also new to the program and was added to the coaching staff in 2022. He is involved with the team's defense and baserunning.
He has accumulated much experience at Hofstra as he was previously employed as an assistant coach.
Former ACC Players of the Year (2015) Will Craig was a First Round pick for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2016 and in August 2022, he was added to the coaching staff.
