13 Best NFL Players From De La Salle

Isaiah Foskey currently plays for New Orleans Saints. Isaiah played defensive end and tight end at De La Salle High School football team. 

He later went on to play college football at Notre Dame. In his first year, he played in four games registering five tackles and a blocked punt.

He had an impact as a pass rusher for Notre Dame over the past two seasons, becoming the only player in Fighting Irish history to record consecutive seasons with ten or more sacks.

Following a series of impressive performances for DLS and Notre Dame, Foskey was drafted by the Saints in the second round of the 2023 draft.

Aaron Taylor played offensive guard in the league for six seasons. Aaron was picked 16th overall by Green Bay Packers in the 1994 NFL draft. 

Graduated playing football from De La Salle High School, and he later played offensive tackle for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team. 

Taylor later signed on to play for the San Diego Chargers in 1998. Sadly, injuries hampered his career forcing him to retire after the 1999 season.

Aaron took on a media career after bidding farewell to his playing days. He is currently a college football analyst for CBS Sports network.

Former footballer Amani Toomer is a product of the Spartans high school team. Toomer later went on to play for New York Giants in the NFL.

Amani received honors as a Parade All-American and USA Today All-USA football player in the early days of his career playing for De La Salle.

Toomer excelled in the role of wide receiver and also led the NFL as a rookie in 1996, averaging 16.6 yards on 18 punt returns.

Amani was a vital part of the team that won the 2007 Super Bowl XLII. From 1999 to 2003, he averaged over 1,000 receiving yards every season.

Former professional football running back Terron Ward played high school football for Spartans. Ward later represented the Oregon State team. 

Ward collected 14 receptions for 76 receiving yards while playing college football for the Beavers in 2011. He also had 211 running yards and one rushing score. He joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2015 as an undrafted rookie free agent. 

After Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, Ward was the team's third running back in 2017, carrying 129 yards in 14 games.

Henry To'oTo'o recently joined the list of De La Salle players in the NFL. Henry was picked by Houston Texans in the fifth round of the 2023 draft.

To'oTo'o played linebacker and running back for the Spartans. He was offered by Alabama, Oregon, USC, and Washington to play college football but opted to play at Tennessee.

To'oTo'o was selected to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team. He began playing Lineback for Tennessee in his true freshman season.

The 6 feet 2 inches tall Henry made 94 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks as a senior after transferring to the University of Alabama in 2021. 

Doug Brien played twelve seasons in NFL as a football placekicker. Doug started his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1994.

Brien missed an opportunity for a game-winning field goal against the Indianapolis Colts, which led to his release from the San Francisco 49ers. 

It all started in Concord at DLS High School for Brien, where became a starting placekicker for the Spartans football team his senior year. 

He went on to play in the league for a total of 12 seasons for 7 different teams, including 6 with the Saints. Doug was chosen as the Saints' NFLPA player representative and team captain.

Devin Asiasi is a notable alumnus of the Spartans football team. Devin currently plays as a football tight end for Cincinnati Bengals. 

At De La Salle High School, he competed in the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Bowl and played both offense and defense in school football.

Asiasi was rated a four-star prospect by the likes of Scout, Rivals, and ESPN while coming out of high school in 2016. He committed to Michigan Wolverines and later transferred to UCLA after the freshman season.

Devin was selected by New England Patriots in the 3rd round and played a total of 10 games before joining the Bengals on August 31, 2022.

Matt Gutierrez never lost a single game while playing for the De La Salle High School team. Matt was an influential quarterback for the Spartans.

Matt initially joined the University of Michigan football team in 2004. He later transferred to Idaho State University and started as a QB in 2006. 

The Concord-born athlete was picked by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent after going undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft.

In the first regular-season game of his career, Gutierrez took the field against the New York Jets and completed his first pass for a 15-yard gain against the Miami Dolphins. 

Next on the list is Austin Hooper, a football tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL. He played college football at Stanford University. 

After playing school football for the Spartans, Rivals rated him a three-star recruit. During his college career, he played 13 games as a redshirt freshman and was a finalist for the John Mackey Award. 

Austin was selected by Atlanta Falcons in the 2016 NFL Draft. He made his debut in the Falcons' season opener vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and made his first career reception on a 14-yard ball by Matt Ryan in the third quarter.

NFLDraftScout regarded Hooper as the second-best tight end prospect in the draft, and Sports Illustrated listed him as the third-best tight end.

Demetrius Williams is a former football wide receiver who spent six years in the league. Baltimore Ravens selected him in the 2006 NFL Draft. 

Williams started his football journey with the Spartans and later attended the University of Oregon. He itched his name into the Oregon history books as one of their greatest receivers.

The 6 feet 2 inches tall athlete registered 63 receptions 1,008 yards, and four touchdowns during his tenure for the Ravens from 2006-09.

Demetrius later went on to represent Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Sacramento Mountain Lions in the national football league.

Cornerback T. J. Carrie is another notable name in the list of De La Salle players in NFL. He was drafted by Oakland Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft. 

In the Oakland Raiders' season-opening game against the New York Jets, he made his regular season debut as a professional, recording five combined tackles and forcing a fumble.

Carrie was voted to the 1st Team All-Conference, thanks to his phenomenal stats of  90 tackles, two interceptions, and ten pass deflections as a senior for the Spartans football team.

Talking about his college career, he played four seasons at Ohio University appearing in 50 games and serving as the team's punt returner.

Apart from the Raiders, T.J. has represented the likes of the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, and Carolina Panthers.

D. J. was regarded as a top defensive player while playing for the Spartans. He also got the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year honors. 

On the back of his eye-catching performances for the Miami Hurricanes during his collegiate career, Willaims made it to the national league.

The former linebacker was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 2004 NFL draft. It didn't take him long enough to make an impact in the league.

He relished a successful career playing for the Broncos till 2012. Willaims joined Chicago Bears on one year contract for the 2013/14 season.

Maurice Jones-Drew is the best player to graduate from De La Salle High School. MJD played nine seasons as a football running back in the NFL.

During his three years of varsity football, he never experienced a single loss. Maurice played a vital role in leading the Spartans to a record-breaking winning streak of 151 games in high school football history.

Jones-Drew was picked by Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl three times.

Furthermore, Maurice also won the 2011 NFL Alumni Player of the Year, since he finished as the rushing yards leader in the league that year.

Drew spent his first eight seasons, from 2007 to 2013, with the Jaguars. He played for Oakland Raiders in 2014 which was his last season in NFL.
