Furthermore, he moved east to work as a sports reporter for CNN in Atlanta in 1989 and went to NBC Sports in 1992.
His primary duties for the network include play-by-play commentary for golf but he took over as play-by-play commentator for college football Notre Dame football in 2013, replacing Tom Hammond.
Bill Macatee (1991-2006)
In his early career, Bill Macatee worked at KLTV-TV in Tyler, Texas while in college as well as KTVV-TV in Austin, Texas.
Macatee joined USA Network as a commentator in 1990. From 1991 until 2006, he anchored coverage of the PGA Tour and hosted the Thursday/Friday coverage of The Masters from Butler Cabin as well as coverage of the Ryder Cup.
Not only that but he served as a tower announcer and handled post-round, network interviews for The Masters and PGA Championship after joining CBS Sports in 1995.
He also substituted for Jim Nantz during other PGA Tour events and anchored CBS' coverage of the LPGA Championship and various Champions Tour events

Paul Azinger (2021-Present)
Paul Azinger was the captain of the U.S. Ryder Cup for 2008 at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was recruited by lead NBC analyst Johnny Miller to join the broadcast team as an on-course reporter.
