Philadelphia 76ers coaching staff is led by Nick Nurse. Bobby Jackson, Fabulous Flournoy, Rico Hines and Doug West are Sixers assistant coaches.

Since taking over the head coaching role at the 76ers in June 2023, Nurse has gathered a bunch of proficient assistants to support him. 

He brought in Hines, Flournoy, West, and Murry to be part of his team. Together they form an awesome coaching squad and a strong team that guides and trains the players to be their best on the court.

Following the disappointing end to Philadelphia's 2022-23 NBA campaign after suffering a 4-3 loss to the Boston Celtics, the franchise parted ways with coach Doc Rivers in May 2023.

After clinching a playoff berth with an astounding 3rd place finish in the Eastern Conference, the 76ers faced Brooklyn in the first round. They registered an effortless 4-0 sweep against the Nets but were unfortunate in the Conference semifinals as they lost to the Celtics.

1. Nick Nurse - Head Coach

Nick Nurse became the 26th Philadelphia 76ers head coach on 1st June 2023. Nurse previously coached another NBA team Toronto Raptors.

The Iowa native upgraded his resume to a high-profile coach after winning the NBA championship with the Raptors in 2019. He spent five seasons with the Raptors before moving on to his new role.

Nurse achieved so much on a personal level, including the 2020 NBA Coach of the Year and earned head coach duty of the Eastern Conference team at the 2020 NBA All-Star Game.

Unfortunately, Toronto had a terrible season in 2022-23, and as a result, the team made the decision to part ways with Nick. The Raptors announced his dismissal following their defeat to the Chicago Bulls in the Play-in Tournament.

The Sixers happily welcomed Nurse as their new head coach for the 2023-24 season. He will now command the team and take charge of their coaching responsibilities.

2. Bobby Jackson - Assistant Coach

Bobby Jackson joined the Philadelphia 76ers assistant coaches in 2023. Jackson is a former NBA point guard who played for Sacramento Kings.

Following his retirement in October 2009, Bobby joined the coaching panel for the Kings, where he honed his tactical skills for 3 years until 2013.

In September 2013, the Minnesota Timberwolves hired him to fulfill the role of a player development coach. He joined the team with the aim of helping players enhance their skills and reach their full potential.

Later in 2021, Jackson returned to Sacramento, and the club immediately appointed him as the head coach of its G League affiliate Stockton Kings.

After spending two seasons in NBA G League, Jackson became a member of the Philly coaching panel alongside Rico, Fabulous, and Doug.

3. Fabulous Flournoy - Assistant Coach

Fabulous Flournoy began his tenure as the 76ers assistant coach in June 2023. Flournoy has formerly worked with Nick Nurse at Toronto Raptors.

After the Sixers hired Nurse as their gaffer, he immediately called his former colleague Flourney to once again be by his side. Flournoy is also mentioned as a player development coach alongside the associate coaching role on the 76ers' website.

A New York homegrown, Flournoy, known as “Fab,” has a history of working with Nick. He achieved legendary status in the British Basketball League when Nurse convinced him to join the Birmingham Bullets as a player.

After retiring in 2019, Flournoy joined Nurse's Raptors team as an Assistant Video Coordinator. During his time there, he also took on the role of a player coach for three years.

4. Doug West - Assistant Coach

Doug West joined the Sixers coaching staff along with Flournoy and Murry in 2023. West is the first assistant to be hired by Nick Nurse.

The 6-foot-6 swingman started working as an assistant coach for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers back in 2012-2013. During that time, Nurse was the head coach of the team. Together, they led the Vipers to win the D League championship.

West played four years of college basketball at Villanova Wildcats and 12 in the NBA with the Minnesota Timberwolves from 1989 to 1997.

Besides, the 56-year-old has coached in different settings, working as an assistant at Villanova and also serving as the head coach for Penn State Altoona for a season. Additionally, he coached the Altoona Area High School boy's team in basketball.

5. Rico Hines - Assistant Coach

Rico Hines is the latest addition to the Philadelphia 76ers coaches. The club officially announced the arrival of Hines in mid-June 2023.

Hines, who used to work as a coach for the Toronto Raptors' player development, has now joined the coaching unit of the Philadelphia 76ers under Nick. The 45-year-old will serve as an assistant coach, working closely with Nurse from the front of the team's bench.

After spending just one season with the Raptors, Hines made this move to reunite with his former coach, Nick Nurse, to the Sixers as an assistant.

From the 76ers assistant coach salary share, the former Golden State Warriors athletic development assistant will make around $45,000 a year.

6. Brian Adams - Player Development Coach

Brian Adams is an American basketball guru who plays a crucial role as a Player Development coach for the Philadelphia 76ers in NBA.

The New York native has been part of the Sixers coaching team since November 2020, when he was appointed to work under coach Doc Rivers.

After completing his academics at Connecticut College, Adams pursued his coaching career. He landed his first job as an assistant for Harvard University in 2011, followed by another assistant role at Marist Red Foxes in 2013.

Furthermore, Adams became the head coach of the Agua Caliente Clippers in August 2018. Before that, he worked as a coach focused on helping players improve their skills with the LA Clippers.

7. Toure' Murry - Player Development Associate Coach

Toure' Murry is a retired NBA player who serves as Philadelphia's player development associate coach. Murry joined the Sixers panel in June 2023.

He spent a decade playing in several basketball leagues in and out of the United States. After going undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft, Murry signed with the Houston Rockets G League affiliate Rio Grande Valley Vipers before making his move to New York Knicks in 2013.

The 6-foot-5 guard played for the Vipers team that won the 2012-2013 championship. Murry played in 56 NBA games and bid adieu to his professional basketball career in 2022.

8. Ben Kenyon - Head Strength And Conditioning Coach

Ben Kenyon is the founder of Great Day Squad and serves as Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Sixers.

Kenyon became part of the 76ers staff in November 2020, taking on the role of head strength coach. He has been diligently working in that position ever since.

Ben previously toiled at Portland Trail Blazers as a Performance Coach for eight years. He graduated from Adelphi University in 2005 with a Sports and Fitness Administration and Management degree.

In 2008, Kenyon joined George Washington University, where he acted as a strength and conditioning coach for the initial three years before his promotion to the post of assistant athletic director.

9. Stephen Brindle - Associate Strength and Conditioning Coach

Stephen Brindle holds the position of associate strength and conditioning coach at the 76ers. Brindle spent a year working at Milwaukee Bucks.

According to his Linkedin, the Pittsburgh native obtained his strength and conditioning coach certification from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Brindle served in a similar role at the University of Pennsylvania for over a decade before moving to the Bucks, where he worked for a year till September 2022.

Then he joined Philadelphia as an associate to work under the head of strength and conditioning Coach, Ben Kenyon.

10. Tyler Lashbrook - Skill Development Coach

Tyler Lashbrook has been working as a skill development coach for the 76ers for the past five years.

After graduating with a journalism degree from Western Kentucky University, Lashbrook got hired by the Sixers for an internship, where he started working as a video coordinator.

Lashbrook has been part of the Philadelphia 76ers organization for eight NBA seasons, working in various roles during that time.

In 2022, Lashbrook had a significant opportunity with the 76ers during the Salt Lake City Summer League. He made his debut as the head coach for the team in the off-season tournament, guiding the team to two victories out of three.
